The Cowboy Next Door by Marin Thomas

TCNDShe Doesn’t Need His Protection!

Hardworking cowboy Johnny Cash has always been a protector to his little sister’s best friend, sweet but tough cowgirl Shannon Douglas. It’s pretty crazy for girls to ride bulls—yet it’s her life to live. Then he realizes he’s got some purely male instincts toward her, too. But absolutely no way can he fall for his boss’s daughter—if he loses his job, there’ll be hell to pay at home….

Shannon was raised to be strong and independent. She wants a national title so bad she can taste it—and she needs Johnny’s help. His protectiveness drives her crazy…the same way his kisses do. But she’s not about to hang up her bull rope because of him! Her heart says he’s the one—but her own stubborn streak might push away the only man who might actually understand her.

Family Matters by Barbara White Daille

FM

Kerry Anne MacBride and her quirky family are a package deal—get one, you get them all. The high school art teacher is stubborn and fiercely protective of her kin, making her the absolute wrong woman for a straitlaced, hardheaded, by-the-books lawyer like Matt Lawrence, no matter how attracted she is to him. And anyway, now’s not the time for distractions! Kerry has to focus on cleaning up the latest MacBride mess: a dilapidated amusement park her uncle just bought with the life savings of a bunch of senior citizens, including Matt’s mom.

To restore Rainbow’s End, Kerry will need Matt’s help—and the luck of the Irish—because even though they clash more often than bumper cars, Kerry and Matt are about to share the wildest ride of their lives!

Honorable Rancher by Barbara White Daille

THR The hero of Flagman’s Folly has been gone more than a year. But he still stands between Ben Sawyer and what he desires most—Dana Wright, the love of Ben’s life.

When soldier Paul Wright left for the last time, he made his best friend promise to look after his wife and kids. Ben—good, steady Ben—is honoring that promise. And it’s burning him up inside.

Because Dana is shutting Ben out. She wants him—so much—but she can’t afford to give in. If she does, she’ll spill her secret, and the betrayal will hurt everyone she cares about—her children, who loved their daddy; her town, which loves its hero; and Ben, who loved his friend. She’ll do anything to protect her secret—even give up her second chance at happiness.

The Rodeo Man’s Daughter by Barbara White Daille

TRMD

When Caleb Cantrell left home as a dirt-poor teenager, he never thought he’d return as a wealthy rodeo star.

As a matter of fact, he didn’t think he’d return at all. The accident changed all that. It ended his career, nearly ended his life and rekindled a bitterness he thought he’d left in the dust long ago.

To rebuild, Caleb has to go back to where it all began—back to Flagman’s Folly, New Mexico, and back to his high-school sweetheart, Tess LaSalle. But a ten-year-old secret stands between them, one that could hurt everyone Tess loves, especially her daughter…their daughter…the one Caleb never knew existed.

ARP

Sam Robertson’s life just changed. In one short day, he found out that he’s a daddy; that his beautiful little girl, Becky, is deaf; and that her aunt, sign language teacher Kayla Ward, intends to fight him for custody.

There are plenty of reasons Sam shouldn’t fall for Kayla. A city girl like her has no place on his ranch, particularly when she’s his ex-wife’s gorgeous sister. But thanks to the judge’s orders, Sam’s spending a lot of time with Kayla, trying to give Becky the stable home she’s never known.

Despite their ongoing custody battle, Sam and Kayla’s love for Becky brings them closer than they ever expected, and Sam knows that no matter who wins in court, he could still lose—Kayla or his daughter.

Going Home Shouldn’t Be This Hard…

Cassidy Lambert traded in Montana’s big sky country for the big-city lights—forever. Until a potentially devastating equine illness threatens her family’s ranch, and Cassidy is needed at home to help. She thinks she knows what she wants from life, but the more she’s around sexy veterinarian Dan Farley, the more confused she gets.

When Cassidy comes back to the open Western landscape Dan loves, she’s nothing but a beautiful burr under his saddle. She stomped on his heart once before, and he’s not eager for another go-around. But he just can’t keep himself away from those green eyes and sweet curves. It’s a good thing she’ll soon be gone again. Because he can’t trust her—or himself—when she’s around!

I live in the northwest corner of Missouri. I love living the small town farming life. My kids go to a small school, where you know everyone and their class size is around 20 instead of 100.

  2. Beth Haney

My hometown is where I call home. I love it because it’s a small town and it’s familiar. I’ve lived in several big cities, but I keep coming back home! Happy 4th!!!

  5. Sandie W

I’m from a small town named Mantua. It’s in Utah. Growing up there were less than 1000 people living in our town. We all knew everybody. It was great fun with lots of open space to do a number of fun things. After growing up, I moved a whole 5 miles away, but still call Mantua home.

  6. esined615

I live in San Diego, Ca. I was born and raised here, moved to the northwest for a year and came back and now I never want to leave. The weather can be unpredictable but sometimes it feels like summer in December, it’s absolutely beautiful here.

  7. Nancy Crocker

Indian Trail, NC … Small town country feel but just 20 minutes to Charlotte

  9. Cari White

I have three places that I call home. Sugar Land, Tx (outside of Houston), where my husband, kids and I have lived for the last 7 years. Atlanta, where my parents, my brother, my sister and her family live. My husband and I married there ands all three kids were born there.

The final home is The Netherlands. We lived there from 2001-2006. Whenever I visit, I feel like I am home.

    I’m blessed with 3 homes!

You asked: Where do you call home? What do you most love about where you live?

I live in Kent, a small town, just outside of Seattle, WA proper. I like living here because: the weather is fairly well balanced; yes we get rain but no violent weather. I can deal; The city is green and lush with lots of wonderful parks; It’s a tech-head’s dream mecca—can you say Microsoft, Nintendo? And last but not least, lots of friendly helpful people. I love it here! Thanks for the opportunity to share.

  11. Ellen Thompson

I live in a small town in East Texas called Van. I love that it is small but it is close enough to larger cities that I can get anything done that I need to but then go back to the peace and quiet.

  12. Na S.

Home is where my loved ones is. Thankfully I love the place where I live. It’s mild and really picturesque 🙂

  13. Donna Durnell

I now call Oklahoma home. Tomorrow, July 4, makes 4 weeks in this small town just north of Bartlesville and almost into Kansas. For the 4 years prior I called Henryetta OK home; and for 6 1/2 years before that — Cordell OK. Yep! you guessed it – we move alot (hubby a Methodist pastor). Our children are in the Oklahoma City area, so guess I can call that home also. I grew up in New Mexico, so Tucumcari & Albuquerque will always be home too.
Hubby was career US Air Force so we have always moved — wherever I hang my hat becomes home for however long we’re there.

  14. CateS

Grew up in a small town in Indiana, while it was the county seat, still rural farm town. Stores were closed Thursday afternoon but open late on Saturdays. People ran ‘tabs’ that were paid weekly or monthly!

  15. Mary Preston

I call Australia home. Now there’s a song lyric that resounds.

What do I love about Australia? (Now I feel like I should reciting a poem I learned in Primary School.) I love the people. I love the freedom. I love the diversity. I love where we sit on the globe. I love it all really.

  16. Patoct

I live in NY in the suburbs about 1 1/2 hrs east of NYC. I have always lived in Long Island and love it, am familiar with the roads and am near everything, the railroad, library, shopping, etc. And am not too far away to see a show and other wonders of NYC.

  17. Rebe

I live in Ohio and really like it here (except in the winter), because the people are really nice, but home for me will always be Atlanta.

  18. DebraG

I live in a small town in Connecticut. I love the quiet and the Green.

  19. Pennie M

i live in Michigan at the corner of No and Where and LOVE the area. It was the best place to raise my twins who have now grown and moved on but both come “home” as often as they can. We have all 4 seasons and because of the Great Lakes we usually do not have the extremes very often.

  20. kp

I live in Massachusetts. Love living here. You can have small town or city. We live in a small town but are only 20 minutes away from Boston. Best of both worlds.

  21. Leanna

I live in Austin, TX but I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and probably consider that home still, thats where my parents and family live and where I grew up. I love Texas and don’t want to live anywhere else right now.

  22. Brenda Rumsey

My home is Oklahoma, where my family is. Been there all my life, although different parts of it. Though I’m a city girl, I have country in my blood and enjoy the simple things. I do enjoy the variety of city life. Happy 4th to everyone!

  23. jdh2690

Home is Sacramento, California. I love it because it’s right in the middle between the mountains (Tahoe, Reno, High Sierra), the coast (Bay Area, Carmel), and Central and No. California. I love it because my hubby and I live independently and alone, with all six of our adult children living independently in all the areas I mentioned previously (so we can be close, but apart). The winters are mild and the summers hot…but with water all around us the heat doesn’t get to us. I love it because it’s got the atmosphere of a small town, but has all the benefits of a big city. It’s a great place to live and work!

  24. Tawnya Bentley

Home is Bakersfield, CA. I actually hate it in the summers because it gets way to freakin hot, but our “winter” I love. I grew up an Army Brat and my dad always seemed to be stationed in the coldest places on Earth. Our longest was Fort Richardson, Alaska, and there we had the wild animals running lose on base. Summers in Bakersfield may last from March to October but I’ve never had to call my kids in for a bear or moose within running distance of my house.

  25. julie whiteley

Home is Texas! I live about an hours drive from Ft. Worth. Texas has everything. Avant garde in Austin, Huge cities like Houston, beautiful beaches, ranches ( hot cowboys in wrangler jeans), diversity in cultures and no matter what a feeling of community and family.

  26. ndluebke

I live just outside Madison, Indiana just 5 minutes from town. We live in a little valley that feels like country. It’s what’s left of a small farm. Just 20 acres left, most of which is hillside. It’s peaceful and full of nature.

  27. EllenToo

I live on the Texas Gulf Coast and I love it. The only bad part of living here is during hurricane season when we are sometimes in the path of hurricanes.

  28. Cindy Hamilton

Sweet home Alabama here! The only thing I don’t like about Bama is the hot, hot temps.

  29. zippykim314

I’m from Georgia and love my farm where I raise American Paint Horses!

  30. Jennifer Zorko-Legan

Cleveland, Ohio is where I call home. What I love most about my hometown, and I have leaved in the area all my life, is that I am surrounded by my family and friends. We have had the opprotunity to move away, but it is family that keeps us rooted here. Family that keeps us grounded.

  31. LaGina

I call home the state of Virginia. And it’s the best because we have Virginia Beach and I live close to it!!

  32. Kimberly F

The books seem just perfect for Summer reading. I live in SO CA, but I always call Indiana my home, even though I left there at 19.

  33. Linda Thum

I’m an international reader from Malaysia. The city where I live is called Penang which is an island. We get lots of sun (all year round), beaches & great food.

  34. Shirley Buchanan

Home is in Tennessee. It is where my heart, my husband, and my family live. I have one son who lives in Georgia, but since he is never away from my heart, he is at home with me, too. So I guess home is where my heart is. Since my heart is never empty as long as they reside there, that is the one thing I love the best.

  35. Alexis B

Santa Clarita, CA….Although there isn’t much for teens and young adults to do where I live we do have a nice mall and shopping area and we are also only about a hour or so away from Los Angeles and Hollywood

  39. Kelly Thompson

I live in Novi, Michigan. I love living in Michigan, though sometimes I forget it for a little bit when I have to shovel tons of snow! I grew up in a small town, and I miss it, but I do like the community I live in now. There is always a lot to do, I’m never very far away from family and friends, and the library is a short walk away!

  40. Amy R

I call a small mid-Missouri town home. We are within a few hours of KC & STL so we can still enjoy amenities of the large city when we want to leave our quite community.

  41. Jamie

Home is where ever my mom and dad are. They could be staying in a cheap hotel, and that would be home. Or they could be staying in a nice hotel in Europe, and that would be home. Where they are, that is my home because I love being with them.

  42. shadowluvs2read
