A Brand New Ending by Jennifer Probst: Ophelia is content. She enjoys running the family B&B with her brother and sister so close by. She’s smart, great with people, talented in the kitchen, and has an incredible voice that could have made her a star. After her ill-fated move to Hollywood with Kyle all those years ago, she’s made the B&B her life with no time for relationships since she doesn’t want to get hurt again.

Kyle has made quite the name for himself as a screenwriter for big blockbuster action flicks. He truly did what he set out to do, only now his life seems a little hollow. He’s done writing action films and he’s tired of always compromising in order to make the next deal. After a long dry-spell and some wicked writer’s block, he decides it’s time to return home, go after the girl, and finally pen the type of screenplay he’s always wanted to.

Kyle knew it’d be difficult to return home again and face Ophelia, but he didn’t expect just how resistant she would be. They were best friends, until they fell in love and ran off to Hollywood together. Ophelia doesn’t want to rehash the past or be confronted with the man she still wants but cannot trust.

“Got it. Anything else?”
“Yes.” She regarded him intently. “Rule number three: I need you to keep away from me. No touching. No flirting. No trying to seduce me.”
His eyes flared with heat. The energy in the room tightened. An excruciating awareness pulsed between them. “What if you’d like it?” he asked softly.

Time is not on Kyle’s side with a deadline looming, but staying at the B&B means that Ophelia can’t run. Their chemistry is still there and this new, grown up version of Kyle is even more distracting and appealing than when they were teens. Both have changed and Kyle takes every opportunity to get to know her again and reminisce about the past. Ophelia reminds Kyle of who he is and he challenges her to embrace her passions.

“You left us hanging. We had to scrub that sign with a Brillo pad on a Saturday in one-hundred degree weather.”
She laughed. “I kept you company.”
“You hung out eating an ice-cream cone, directing us where to scrub harder!”

A love story will be rewritten in this heartfelt romance from New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.

Ophelia Bishop was a lovestruck teenage girl when she and Kyle Kimpton chased their dreams to Hollywood. Kyle’s dreams came true. Ophelia’s did not. When Kyle chose his career over their relationship, Ophelia returned home to rural New York to run the family’s B & B—wiser, and more guarded against foolish fantasies. Now Kyle has come crashing back into her life, and all her defenses are down.

Kyle can’t think of a better place to write his latest screenplay than his hometown. After all, that was where he met the heart of his inspiration—his first love. He knows the damage he’s caused Ophelia, and he wants a chance to mend their relationship. If anyone can prove to Ophelia that happy ever afters aren’t only for the movies, it should be him.

As much as Ophelia’s changed, she still has feelings for Kyle. But her heart has been broken before, and she knows that Kyle could run back to Hollywood at any time. She gave up her dreams once, but maybe she can dare to change her own love story…one last time.
