A Bride’s Tangled Vows by Dani Wade is the first part in Millwood Millionaires and also serves as a build up for the future books to come in this series.

21489549Wealthy art dealer Aiden Blackstone is back at Blackstone manor after getting the news of his grandfather’s death but returning to the hometown which still haunts him is not easy for him. He has returned for the only person he has ever cared about–his mother. But to his shock, his grandfather is alive and is still the controlling freak he was the last time Aiden saw him.

Aiden is forced to take up a wife to ensure his invalid mother’s guardianship is transferred to him from his grandfather and the only person willing to be the part of his grandfather’s machinations is Christina Reece–his mother’s nurse and long time supporter. They both agree to remain married for one year for Aiden’s mother, Lily sake but their platonic relationship is threatened by the intense mutual attraction towards each other.

The only way Christina can make this marriage outlive their one-year agreement is if she can make her sexy husband open his heart and forget the demons of the past…before it’s too late. Because there’s an enemy on the horizon, threatening to take away all they hold dear, including their newfound passion.

A Bride’s Tangled Vows by Dani Wade is a well written romance around the marriage of convenience trop. It had a good start and the anticipation build up was really good. There are many characters involved in the story but they don’t take the spotlight off the main characters. There is also a bit of suspense which kept my interest and added to the story in a good way. Aiden is a self made man who is still haunted by the demons of his past and racked by guilt regarding his mother’s delicate condition. He was a brooding and intense hero who acts as a protector for the heroine in many scenes. Christina is a sweet heroine who is willing to do anything to see Aiden’s mother, Lily in good health.

The story does not have a significant conflict and though the anticipation buildup is quite good in the starting chapters, everything fails to come together in the right way at the end. There are questions left unanswered and some issues are not explained properly.

Overall, A Bride’s Tangled Vows by Dani Wade is a well written romance which has all the elements for a perfect story but it does not come together as well as expected.
