A Countess for Christmas by Christy McKellen: Sometimes time A-Countess-for-Christmasstands still and you just don’t know why until there is one look and then your world tilts out of control.

Emma Carmichael knew what it was like to have her world spin out of control. It was easier to say she didn’t know what “normal” felt like anymore. The last six years have been the most chaotic of her life but she was so close to getting everything back on track and finally moving forward with her life. That is until that one moment where time stood still.

Jake Westwood was back home. After six years abroad, he was finally home and determined to make it there as well. It was time to embrace the past and connect it with the present so there could be a future. He was all set to make it happen until he was faced with his past in the most unsuspecting place.

When Jake and Emma are forced to remember the past will they be able to reconcile what once was with what is now? Or will the past prove to much to overcome?

Ms. McKellen has delivered a lovely tale with this novel. It’s a wonderful story of two people who weren’t able to see farther than their noses. The prose is wonderfully written, flowing off the page and immersing the reader in the lives of these two. Detailed, but not overwhelming or frustratingly long. These two may remind you of two pigheaded teenagers in the beginning but the transformation is lovely to watch. This is a very mellow and lovely story.
