A Fairytale Bride (Chapel of Love 0.5) by Hope Ramsay is an amazing kickoff to what will fairytalebridebe a great new series. This fun and fast little novella has all the warmth and amazing characters that we have come to expect from Hope Ramsay. This new series kicks off with the story of Jeff and Melissa.

Jeff Talbert-Lyndon is a journalist who exposes underhanded political dealings, only to be disgraced in the public eye by none other than his father. Wanting nothing more than to escape, he decides to hide out for awhile in the one place that he family would never look for him, the small cabin in Shenadoah Falls, Virginia. While trying to hide from his aunt, he sneaks into Secondhand Prose, the little town bookstore and becomes enchanted with not only the selection of books, but also that shop owner, Melissa Portman.

Melissa Portman is doing everything in her power to keep her grandmothers bookstore open, but with money running out, taxes due and a lack of sales, it looks like her only options will be to see to the Lyndon’s, the big bad bullies in town. When a stranger shows up in her shop, introducing himself as Jeff Talbert and looking to fill the help wanted position, Melissa knows that she cannot afford to pay him, knows that it is no use trying to save the shop. But she cannot deny that the more Jeff works to organize and revitalize the shop, the harder it is for Melissa to imagine selling.

When truths are revealed, Jeff knows that it will take more than words to convince Melissa to understand him, it will take grand gestures, and it will take Melissa’s long time friends to make her open her eyes to what her heart already knows, that Jeff is her fairytale come true.

What I loved about this story is that Melissa is a really quirky character. She is quite, but wears loud clothing, tee shirts with Princesses and HEA all over them. There are a number of laugh our loud scenes in this amazing little book and the HEA at the end made for the stuff of fairytales. I can’t wait for the next amazing story in this new series.
