REVIEW: A Secret Shared… by Marion Lennox

A Secret Shared… by Marion Lennox is all about healing and finding love when you least expect it.

Oncologist Jack Kincaid is trying to bring out his nephew from the trauma of losing both his parents. So far nothing has worked and Harry is still withdrawn from everyone else around him. With no options left,J ack decides to seek treatment at Dolphin Bay Healing Resort, even when he is skeptical about the use of dolphins as an alternative medicine for healing. He is in for a surprise though when Harry makes progress on their arrival itself. He decides to give the resort a chance and then he recognizes the therapist Dr.Kate Martin –the woman who he once knew as Cathy.

Jack can’t help but be intrigued, and he’s just as attracted to her as he always was. And when Kate reveals to him the devastating secret that she will do anything to escape, not only does she share her burden, but she starts to open up Jack’s locked-away heart, too….

A Secret Shared.. by Marion Lennox is superbly written and tells a great story. The romance was warm hearted, slow paced and sweet but it was not my favorite part of the book. I loved the medical details, the way Harry slowly came out of his withdrawn self, the way he and Jack formed a bond and mostly how the resort helped in healing so many children.

The romance is there but it is very much in the background and other details take precedence in this case. Not that I am complaining because I loved the other details so much more. Jack is dedicated to his career but he obviously cares a lot for Harry. I loved the relationship he shared with his nephew and the way they bonded over the story. Cathy or Kate is scarred by something that happened in the past and therefore she lives alone and trusts no one. She hiding from something and her secret is revealed quite early in the story. I was expecting some drama based on that detail but nothing much happened regarding the same. There is not much conflict in the story but I guess it did not need one because it felt complete to me.

Overall, A Secret Shared.. by Marion Lennox tells a beautiful and emotional story but not a great romance. Read this one for one amazingly written story about loss, love and healing.
