All I Want by Jill Shalvis: Now that Zoe’s siblings have paired off and moved out, Zoe is All-I-Wantfinally able to live for herself. She’s spent most of her childhood, teenage, and adult years watching over her brother and sister. Now it’s her turn to try to find love, but she’s been burned in the past and her walls are high.

Parker is a special agent who has been forced to take a vacation, except he can’t quite leave his latest case alone. As one of Wyatt’s friends, he decides to stay in Sunshine to further the case and plans to stay at Zoe’s house for his vacation.

Zoe decides it’s time to start dating and puts out the word she’s open to being set up on dates. Zoe expects a one such date to show up and she puts Darcy’s friendly advice to good use when Parker shows up.

“Nice to meet you, too,” he said. “Who’s the dentist?”
Zoe’s smile congealed and her heart stopped, just completely stopped. “Uh…you,” she said. “You’re the dentist.”
Still smiling, he shook his head. “Not me.”

They have a very interesting first meeting to say the least. It’s clear that Parker is a bit of a mystery since he’s very tight-lipped about what he does and why he hires Zoe to fly him around Idaho. It’s also clear that there is a palpable attraction between them. But Zoe doesn’t date men who keep secrets and Parker doesn’t do entanglements.

Since they essentially live together, that changes the playing field. They can’t escape each other or their chemistry. The banter between Zoe and Parker is highly entertaining and serves to draw them together.

“I’m cold,” she lied. “I can’t get warm.”
“It’s summer. It’s a warm night.”
“Parker?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you really want to argue with a woman who’s trying to seduce you?”

All I Want absolutely hits the mark. Jill Shalvis provides her trademark humor in a book that I couldn’t wait to read and did not disappoint. Ms. Shalvis creates an entertaining and steamy romance that had me laughing out loud and feeling the heat. All I Want can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading all of the books in the Animal Magnetism series. Fans of Susan Mallery, Kristan Higgins, and Rachel Gibson would love All I Want!
