Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning can be summed up in one word…HOT! There’s a lot of sex in Backstage-Passthis story. Seriously…practically every page is filled with sex and not much else.

Myrna Evans is a professor of sexuality and meets the band while giving a seminar. She’s also emotionally scarred from her ex-husband and when she starts to let her inhibitions flow, his words come back to haunt her. When she meets Brian, she’s immediately attracted to him and has no issues of sharing her body with him, but when Brian wants to see her again, she instantly shuts the idea down. Their worlds just don’t mix…or do they?

Brian Sinclair is the lead guitarist for the band Sinners. He’s different than most rockstars. He falls in love fast and is very loyal to his woman, but each woman ends in the same old song and dance, with them cheating on him. When Myrna shows him kindness, he immediately falls for her and thus begins their physical association. Brian is a really great guy who is as sexual as he is talented. Brian is a machine in the bedroom and in the tub and pretty much anywhere he can get away with it and being a rockstar pretty much means he has free rein. Myrna and Brian have no problems connecting on a sexual level and this eventually leads to a deeper connection emotionally.

Myrna is wishy washy with her feelings. One minute she’s brazen and the next she’s shy and feels ashamed. It gets to be too much sometimes and I just wish her feelings were more consistent. As for Brian, he has a whole lot of trust issues which is understandable since most of his ex-girlfriends cheated on him with his band member. But the thing is…he doesn’t seem that much upset with the guy as he was with the women who cheated and Brian jumps to the wrong conclusions right away instead of opening his eyes and examining the situation. The author also hints at some unrequited love between two of the band members and it never really gets addressed.

Did I mention there’s a lot of sex…just letting you know in case you’re looking for a slow burn or a sweet romance because this is not it. Most of the sex is between Myrna and Brian but there’s also sex between the other band members and their groupies and a threesome between Myrna, Brian, and another band member. It’s all consensual and all in good fun, so if you read this book and are not into that kind of stuff, don’t be surprised…I warned you. Overall, Backstage Pass is a well-written, steamy read that has plenty of heat.
