Born to be Bad by Carol Marinelli: Millicent, Milly, Harper was like most young actresses working as a waitress waiting for her big break and she had her regulars, including a creepy older gentleman who liked to lear. She also had a hulky hunk of a man who liked to brood as well. However she was a little naïve as well and didn’t know much about relationships or men and her hunk was a definite player.

Roman Zaretsky was a hulky hunk, brooding and with enough pain in his past to make a grown man cry and try as he likes to bury it under hotel room trashing parties and alcohol one young woman makes him feel. The only problem is it’s been so long since he’s felt he’s not sure what to do.

Roman finally makes a play on Milly and for some reason Milly accepts now the future may just hinge on what happens the next morning. Is Milly really as sweet and innocent as she appears? Is Roman really as gruff and untouchable as he appears? Will they have a future? Or does he already see her future as having a past?

Ms. Marinelli has taken the story of the Zaretsky brothers out another step with Roman’s story. With this story we are given more of their past and are able to help connect it with their futures. Her descriptions of the characters are great and the readers are given more insight into the male lead than is “normal” with HEA’s. Overall this is a good read, even if it is a bit short.
