Forbidden Fling by Skye Jordan: Delaney Hart, from the notorious Hart family, is forbidden-fling-jordanback in town to deal with her family’s falling apart bar. She’ll have to decide whether to tear it all down or renovate and sell it, and it’s looking more and more like she’ll renovate. Except, the powerful Hayes family wants her to tear it down, the bar being the site of one of their boys’ death and because they blame Delaney.

Ethan Hayes, the town building inspector, may not blame Delaney, but he does want the bar torn down since it has been his and his grandpa’s goal to get an alcohol permit and open their brewery and bar. He’ll have to do what he can to convince her to get rid of the bar, and get the girl he crushed on hard as a teen.

Ethan wanted Delaney for years, but she never noticed him. Now that she’s back in town and seeing all the man that Ethan’s become, she can’t do anything but notice. But as Ethan remains locked in his family drama and Delaney refuses to bow to their wishes, it doesn’t look like they’ll have anything more than a passing fling.

One of his hands rose to her chin, lifting it until her eyes met his. Only he wasn’t looking her in the eye. His gaze was on her mouth. “You can thank me with a kiss.”

He didn’t wait for an answer. He did what she would have expected from a man who exuded his level of charisma and simply lowered his head and pressed his lips to hers.

I really enjoyed Forbidden Fling. I think both Ethan and Delaney are strong characters, and they’re definitely hot together. This story is Ethan truly becoming his own man apart from his family, and I loved seeing him do that, stand up to people that abuse his guilt over his cousin’s death and his familial loyalty.

Delaney I felt less strongly about, but she had a hard past and she grew to be a confident woman. And, of course, it’s fun seeing her try to resist Ethan. Both want each other so badly, but can’t for so many reasons actually be together, even if they only want a short fling.

The first in a series, I know I want to read the following stories. I definitely recommend Forbidden Fling for those who want a sexy, quick read in a small town.

4SPublication: July 26 2016 | Montlake Romance | Wildwood #1

Delaney Hart has come a long way from her wild youth, dating tattooed bikers at her father’s bar, The Bad Seed. But when his death pulls her back to Wildwood, California, she must stay to renovate the dive he left her. And also face the lies and secrets that sent her running ten years before.

When Wildwood’s chief building inspector, Ethan Hayes, shows up on the property, Delaney doesn’t recognize him. The last thing he wants to do is save the bar where his cousin died in a brawl. But the good boy from her past is all too willing to remind her of the bad girl she used to be. And one night of passion leaves them both in a compromising position.

The last place Ethan should be is in Delaney’s bed. Guilt, family pressure, and plans for a brewpub of his own make shutting down The Bad Seed his top priority…until his feelings for Delaney interfere. Because her future depends on the success of the bar’s renovation and his dreams are rooted in its failure, their forbidden romance may be destined for heartbreak.
