Getting-Wound-UpGetting Wound Up: A Sapphire Falls/Love Between the Bases novel– PART ONE by Jennifer Bernard and Erin Nicholas
Caitlyn moved back home to help take care of her brother after his accident. While she loves to create sweet treats specific to those in their small town, it’s not quite what she had dreamed of for herself. It doesn’t help that she’s attracted to her brother’s best friend. Eli dreamed of playing in the big leagues as a star pitcher, but that dreamed ended with his father’s stroke. He’s accepted that his future will be running the hardware store and trying to keep his dad involved.

“So I offered. And if you don’t go along with it, they’re going to murder me. So I would really appreciate it if you would just…you know…cooperate.”
“Like a good little kidnapping victim?”
“Exactly,” she answered cheerfully.

Eli’s friends have the best of intentions when they have Cait kidnap him for the Kilby Catfish tryouts. Cait comes across as being sweet, loyal, dedicated, and happy-go-lucky. She easily charms others and provides a much-needed confidence boost and support when Eli doubts his performance. Their impromptu trip also gives Cait a chance to have Eli see her as a woman instead of his best friend’s sister.

Seriously? You call that a kiss? Your moves need work, big shot.
She saw the exact moment when he got the text. He clutched his chest as if she’d shot him, and pretended to nearly fall to his knees. Then he texted back.
Challenge accepted.

Their trip for the tryouts is just the beginning. Exploring their attraction would be Cait’s dream come true, but Eli’s dream may come true and take him out of Sapphire Falls for the foreseeable future.

Getting Wound Up is an engaging and entertaining romance with great characters. Getting Wound Up will be published as three novellas and should be read in order. As a complete work, Getting Wound Up can be read independently from both the Sapphire Falls and Between the Bases series. Jennifer Bernard and Erin Nicholas provide plenty of flirty banter in this sweet and sexy romance. Ms. Bernard and Ms. Nicholas provide great secondary characters with a penchant for matchmaking. Fans of Carly Phillips and Rachel Gibson will enjoy Getting Wound Up.

A fun, flirty crossover novel from bestselling authors Jennifer Bernard (the Love Between the Bases series) and Erin Nicholas (the Sapphire Falls series)

Caitlyn Murray has never let on that she’s had fantasies about her brother’s friend Eli Anderson for years. She’d do anything for the sexy, baseball star who’s given it all up to stay in Sapphire Falls and take care of his family, but she and Eli are friends. Just friends.

So when her brother hatches a plan to get Eli to the pro baseball try-out for the Kilby Catfish that he has dreamed of and deserves, Caitlyn is all in. After all, what’s a little kidnapping among friends?

A spot on the pitcher’s mound for the Catfish isn’t the only tempting thing about the spontaneous road trip. Eli already knows that Caitlyn is as sweet as the candies she makes for the Sapphire Falls bakery, but alone with her overnight in the tiny motel room in Kansas, it’s impossible to resist the urge to take a little taste.

But when that taste leads to falling for the girl next door just as his front door is moving hundreds of miles away, can Eli really have it all? Or do they have too many strikes against them?
