REVIEW: Going Up by Tawna Fenske

Going Up (Kindle in Motion) by Tawna Fenske: Noah is gentle, artistic, creative, and used to being judged based on his overwhelming height and size. It doesn’t help that as a stonemason he travels with his many tools. Lexi is feisty, sassy, and independent. She loves her job as a mixologist where she can create unusual yet tasty drinks. After working in a bar for so long, she’s used to being hit on and wary of men.

Noah and Lexi just so happen to be riding in the same elevator when it gets stuck between floors. They are forced to wait it out, and Noah tries to put Lexi at ease. They get a chance to get to know each other and it helps that the adorable packrat Lexi is pet-sitting can help to break the ice.

Despite thinking that Lexi was in a relationship, Noah is still quite disappointed when they finally get off the elevator. Both felt the attraction and they enjoyed finding someone who had the same passion for their career. Finding each other was so very unexpected and Noah definitely doesn’t want to let her get away.

“Hypothetically,” she says when she’s done chewing. “I’m free Thursday night and Saturday night. And hypothetically, I’ve been dying to check out that new Italian place downtown, over by the Heathman.”
“Hypothetically, then, I’ll make a reservation for seven thirty on Saturday.”
“It’s a hypothetical date.”

Going Up is entertaining, lighthearted, and a great beach read. Tawna Fenske provided just enough banter, conflict, and heat to keep things interesting. Ms. Fenske created a great cast of characters featuring a memorable packrat. Fans of Laura Kaye and Shacking Up by Helena Hunting will enjoy Going Up.

USA Today bestselling author Tawna Fenske’s outrageous romantic comedy about love and lies between perfect strangers…

If someone had told Noah Donovan he was going to be stuck in an elevator with a very beautiful, slightly odd bartender and her fluffy packrat, he never would have believed it. Fortunately, the quirky brunette leaves the very cuddly rodent behind. Unfortunately, she’s married.

In Lexi Allison’s job, she’s accustomed to warding off unwanted advances with a fake wedding ring. So when she meets a tatted-up hunk in an elevator, she’s quick to revert to her default tall tale. This guy certainly knows how to push her buttons, but the thing is, they’re the right buttons. Not that it makes any difference. She won’t see him again anyway.

Noah and Lexi are about to discover that fate has plans for both of them—and that their ups and downs are just beginning. Because it’s going to take two lies, three misunderstandings, a case of mistaken identity, and one very persistent rodent to prove that perfect strangers can make the perfect couple.
