REVIEW: Hearts at Seaside by Addison Cole

Hearts at Seaside (Sweet with Heat #3) by Addison Cole: For the past six years Jenna has crushed hard on Seaside handyman Peter. But every time she’s around him, she goes quiet and shy. A world of difference for the lively, vivacious, and very confident Jenna.

Peter’s always had an eye on Jenna, but he has no idea what to think of her. He likes his women confident and taking the lead, but Jenna has always treated him differently and he doesn’t know if that’s good or bad. Until he finally makes the move after seeing her flirt with another guy.

But Peter’s dealing with his father’s alcoholism, and he doesn’t know how to have a life outside that. Not even when he finally gets the vivacious Jenna in his life and starts falling hard for her.

Jenna has definitely been my favorite of the Seaside girls. She’s lively and fun, if very neurotic. I don’t know if I would be able to deal with her very long, but I’ve always liked the quirky heroes and heroines. And Peter truly is a perfect match for her. While I wish their love wasn’t so perfect and accepting – you love the person, faults and all, but you don’t find every fault endearing and adorable – they’re certainly cute and sexy together.

There wasn’t too much conflict. Mostly they had a longer build up to actually being a couple. Afterwards, it was smooth sailing. But I did appreciate that build up. It made for some very good fireworks when they actually did get together.

Hearts at Seaside is my favorite of the Sweet with Heat series, and I definitely recommend it for those who want that seaside read. The third in the series, it can be read as a standalone. But it’s always nice to get that background and history that creates such a strong community.
