In Her Secret, His Surprise by Paula Altenburg, Cass Stone was disowned by her father after not following his specific rules and restrictions. So when given a choice she decided to leave and make a life of her own, even if that pains her since she cannot have Her-Secret-His-Surprise-by-Paula-Altenburgany contact with her mother or siblings thanks to her father. But doesn’t mean that she has given up, she has made a good life on her own and has more success than her family ever thought she would be able to achieve. But when a one-night stand with a bartender leaves her pregnant she has to work even harder to give her child a happy life.

Logan Alexander never forgot the one night he spend with Cass two years ago, but as an undercover agent he could not tell her the truth about his identity. Only now his work has brought him to her as her assistant, and she is one of the prime suspects he is trying to discover. So even though he wants to tell her the truth, he needs to keep pretending to be a carefree wanderer until he finds the real culprit.

But when Logan finds out that Cass has a baby, no matter how much he wants to deny the baby is his, the resemblance to his sister is undeniable and he knows that things just got more complicated for him. If Cass is the person selling secrets to the enemy she could be arrested leaving his child without a mother. He is angry that he has missed so many months of his baby’s life, but now that he knows he cannot wait until the case is over and he can come clean to Cass and claim his child.

The complications with their jobs make the relationship between Logan and Cass quite interesting. Both are very smart and determined in their jobs. Not to mention that a male assistant and a female supervisor are not always seen with good eyes, which is how Logan and Cass find themselves with lots of problems at work with the coworkers. But for me the best part was seeing Logan interact with his daughter for the first time and seeing him fall for her faster than he wanted to deny his paternity in his mind.

If you want a sweet, fun and entertaining read, don’t miss Her Secret, His Surprise by Paula Altenburg.

Conflict of interest is an understatement…

Since being disowned by her strict father, Cass Stone has spent her adulthood trying to prove him wrong. Her drive has led to more success than her family ever thought she’d achieve, and life is looking great. Not even an incredible and mysterious one night stand that leaves her a single mom can trip her up…until the father of her baby stumbles back into her life, as sexy and unreliable as ever.

Logan Alexander hasn’t forgotten the night he spent with Cass two years ago, but he never expects to end up undercover as her assistant. His job saves lives—like it should have saved his brother—and he can’t afford complications. It’s difficult enough to maintain his cover as a carefree wanderer when he realizes his attraction to Cass hasn’t faded…and then he meets Cass’s daughter.
