Kat Brookes has written a story that portrays such a beautiful community, a his-holiday-matchmakercommunity that really is a family to each of its’ members.

His Holiday Matchmaker, “we”, the readers, meet Nathan, Katie, and Alyssa, as well as members of Nathan’s family and various community members of a small town in Texas. Nathan is a widowed father raising his daughter Katie, after her mother and Nathan’s parents were killed by a tornado.

Alyssa comes into town to provide interior decorating services, pro bono, for the community recreation center Nathan’s family company is building for the town to replace the center destroyed by the tornado. Alyssa is extremely skilled, though lacks confidence due to impaired vision caused by an accident.

Her gentle humor and kind ways immediately draw Nathan and Katie to her, and Katie quickly decides she wants Alyssa to be her new mother. Alyssa is deeply touched by Nathan and Katie’s ‘affections, and by how very kind and caring everyone in town is, including the elderly ladies running the bed and breakfast where she is staying. But she questions whether she can really be a positive mother figure because she feels her impaired vision will get in the way.

Nathan and his family and their friends must convince Alyssa of all she has to offer. Also, Nathan must battle with himself to get to the point where he is ready to find love again. Truly such a moving story, one I highly recommend.

Nathan Cooper’s daughter wants only one thing for Christmas—a new mommy. Caring for six-year-old Katie is the widowed builder’s priority, and he doesn’t want to risk more heartache for either of them. Yet when interior designer Alyssa McCall comes to town on a temporary assignment, both he and Katie are charmed. Working together to finish the new recreation center, Alyssa and Nathan form a connection, though Alyssa worries that she can’t be the mother Katie deserves. But with one little girl—and her handsome daddy—determined to prove her wrong, this could be a Christmas to remember.
