REVIEW: It Happened One Night Shift by Amy Andrews

In It Happened One Night Shift by Amy Andrews, ex-military Gareth Stapelton keeps his distance from everyone ever since he lost his much It-Happened-One-Night-Shiftbeloved wife to breast cancer. That is until he meets Dr Billie Ashworth-Keyes one night shift and his life changes forever after he finds himself locked in the hottest kiss of his life!

Billie and Gareth both need each other in different ways to heal and make their lives a little bit both meaningful. But will they accept each other or the obstacles holding them apart will prevent them from being together?

Amy Andrews tells a moving story with some of the most best medical details integrated in this story. The hero, Gareth is an ex-military triage nurse who has secluded himself from everyone since the death of his beloved wife. This is the first time I have read about a nurse as a hero but believe me it did not make a mountable difference as some people might think.

Gareth was a tough hero in his own right and his being a nurse was not an issue, I rather liked it in this case. Billie is a young doctor who is struggling to do her job when the story starts. Her struggle continues for a while as she is clearly not suited in the emergency room. I loved how Gareth showed her that she needed to take her life in her own hands and ignore what others wanted her to do. Billie too was the right person to make Gareth live again and move forward in life.

Overall, It Happened One Night Shift by Amy Andrews is a well written romance with awesome medical details.

I’ve worked with a lot of male nurses, but you’re right, Ipshita, I can’t recall one as a hero. It sounds good. Thanks for the review.

I really like Amy Andrews’ books especially her ER romances. I can’t wait to read this one. I’ve never read a romance with a male nurse, but, hey, it’s the 21st century!
