In Legally Addicted by Lena Dowling Georgia lives her life according to her plan, and she has just been made a partner at her law firm one year ahead of her plan! At the celebration the company has for her, Georgia ends up leaving and spending the night with Brad, also a lawyer and in Georgia’s mind a rich play boy. In her mind, it’s a one night stand with someone she’ll only see in passing again and she runs off the morning after before they have a chance to talk.

LASo is Georgia ever surprised when she finds out that morning that Brad’s company is merging with the one she works for and they will be working in much closer contact than she ever thought! She is determined to maintain a professional distance, no matter how good the night with Brad was. Brad however, wants more than a professional relationship with Georgia, even if it means backing out of the business merger.

When Georgia sees Brad though, mostly she sees his wealth, and not in a good way. She believes just because he was born into money he’s never had to work hard for anything, never had to be disappointed or hurt. What she doesn’t see is that he has worked hard to get where he is, and he has been hurt many times by people wanting money from him.

Georgia had a rough childhood and only got where she is today by sheer determination, hard work, and the support and guidance of a few non-related adults in her life. Georgia remains determined that she will not get involved in a relationship with Brad, and anytime they come close she is off and running!

Brad is falling in love with Georgia…

“For the first time in his life, despite all his wealth and privilege, he felt like a lucky man. But after their first couple of encounters, he wasn’t taking anything for granted.”

She is different from any of the woman he’s known. But when it comes down to it, is Georgia really any different? Does she have deeper feelings than she will admit to even to herself? Can Georgia move beyond the fact that Brad was born into money and leave her bitterness behind to give her and Brad a chance together?

I have to be honest, I really disliked Georgia! She has a huge chip on her shoulder and really needs to move beyond the fact that Brad and his family have money. She is very judgemental of other people. In Brad’s words:

“She might have grown up in poverty, but it didn’t give her exclusive rights to scale the moral high ground and lay claim to it as her own.”

Georgia had a very rough time of it in her younger life, and she seems to be holding it against the world. She is using it as an excuse not to get close to anyone! On the other side of that, she has turned her life around and with determination has done very well for herself. However, as much as I disliked her, without her issues there would be no story!

Brad may come across as a rich, devil may care guy…but he’s definitely not! He’s sexy, thoughtful, and for most of Legally Addicted has the patience of a saint with Georgia! But even Brad can reach an end point.

Lena gives us a couple of characters in Legally Addicted that actually do work well together. They are both stubborn, both have strong beliefs, a good work ethic, and in their own ways, want to do good.

Despite my dislike of Georgia, Lena gives us a well written, fast paced romance with some heat to liven things up!

A fast-moving, high stakes battle-of-the-sexes story with a Hepburn/Tracey flavor (and a hot one-night stand!).

Georgia Murray’s one-night-stand with fellow Sydney lawyer and billionaire property magnate Brad Spencer was supposed to be just that – one-off, fun. Case closed.

But Brad knows something Georgia doesn’t: their lives are about to become entwined in an unavoidable way. The tension smoulders towards ignition point, and Georgia is terrified to find herself contemplating more from Brad, even the possibility of love – a concept with the power to frighten her more than anything else in this world
