Living with her Ex-Boyfriend by Noelle Adams: Living with her Ex-boyfriend by Noelle Adams is the second romance in The Loft series. The characters were introduced and were together as a couple in the first in the series, Living with Her One Night Stand. But they’ve since broken up, and now they must decide whether it’s a temporary or a permanent situation.

Michelle and Steve were spending more time fighting than loving each other when they broke up. For Michelle it was a fundamental problem of her not being happy with herself, and not believing that Steve would love her anymore if she changed. Their arguments added to the stress and so she broke up with him – but they still live together in the same loft apartment until Steve can find a new place to live.

Steve doesn’t want to lose Michelle but he doesn’t know what to do. He loves her and at first he doesn’t believe she really means that their relationship is over, but soon realizes that she means it. As Michelle starts to make changes in her life, Steve discovers that the best way to get Michelle back is to start from scratch – be a real friend, and show her that he’s willing to back off and let her call the shots. Will Michelle be willing to give their relationship a second chance?

I loved this story! It must be awkward to keep living with an ex that you have broken up with, especially if you still love each other and just can’t get past what seem like irreconcilable differences. Clearly this leads to permanent breakups in many cases. But since this is a romance, we know that Steve and Michelle are going to have to change and grow in order to find their way back to each other.

Michelle has spent her whole life trying to please her parents, which resulted in her choosing the wrong school major and struggling to accept certain parts of her personality. She’s always squashed her desire for a more active and exciting sex life, and while sex with Steve was good she never really expressed what she wanted with him, and he treated her very gently and with care – nice, but not exciting. When an argument they have once they’ve broken up leads to an exciting and passionate sexual experience for them, it opens their eyes to what they’ve been missing. It’s not enough to fix their problems, but it’s a start.

Becoming friends again is the key, and this only happens when Steve is willing to give Michelle space to explore. She thinks that dating other guys will get her mind off of Steve, but this doesn’t happen. In fact, Steve’s willingness to be her wingman and help her open up to other guys makes her see him in a new light. Plus, she can see that he’s proud of her for standing up to her parents, and making new career choices. She begins to understand that his love for her is a permanent thing. Their story is not without some obvious ups and downs, and they both work hard to understand each other. When they do get back together it’s with a new appreciation of what they have now. It’s a lovely romance with a heartfelt happy ending.

As Steve and Michelle’s romance is going through its challenges, the couple from the first book is on their way to moving out of the loft, making room for some new characters and new stories to come. I’m looking forward to continuing the series!

Book Info:

Publication: July 10, 2018 | Self Published – Noelle Adams | The Loft #2

Michelle thought she’d found the love of her life, but they ended up fighting all the time. So she broke up with Steve, and now it’s time to move on.

The only problem is she still has to live with him. They’re still roommates for a few more months. So he’s around all the time–with his hot body and his crooked smile and his infuriating (sexy) attitude.

She wants to learn to live without him, but he wants to work things out. And the passion and intimacy she shared with him won’t go away just because she wants it to.
