Love Rebuilt launches a new series, Kings Grove, for Delancey Sewart, and after reading this first installment, I can’t wait to dive into the next three books. They’re all set in the small, remote town of Kings Grove, California, which is surrounded by the majestic Giant Sequoias, with an interesting cast of characters and emotional love stories.

Maddie Turner recently exited a tumultuous marriage and has returned to live in Kings Grove, where she spent most of her summers during childhood. She lost her sense of self during her marriage and is trying to find her way back and rediscover who she is. She’s cynical about love and relationships and working to get back on her feet financially after her husband left her with nothing. She’s likable and hilarious with a sarcastic and self-deprecating sense of humor.

She meets the reclusive, horror writer Connor Charles when he shows interest in purchasing the land she and her brother inherited, but the land isn’t for sale. Her ex-husband was trying to “help her” by pushing her to sell. She resists but Connor gently persists, and she actually does begin to consider selling. In the process, they get to know each other and discover they have amazing chemistry. They begin a slow and steady courtship, but Connor’s life is complicated right now.

Many believe he murdered someone or someones, and the entire town is leery of him. The lore has gotten out of control and taken on a life of its own, but there is much more to Connor than anyone realizes. Delancey Stewart does an incredible job of revealing his backstory, and I found everything about him intriguing. He and Maddie are well-matched, and their relationship is tender and passionate.

Love Rebuilt is a captivating romance, but it also has a subplot that gives it considerable depth and makes it memorable. It’s highly emotionally and deeply affecting with a little mystery thrown in. I’m being cryptic on purpose, because I don’t want to ruin any of the story. Don’t miss Love Rebuilt.

Connor Charles has a dark reputation in the small town of Kings Grove. A reclusive and successful horror writer, he keeps to himself, but that doesn’t stop the rumor mill in town. Connor’s keeping some dark secrets, but they aren’t the ones everybody believes.

Maddie Turner’s marriage ended in “I’m-bringing-in-a-younger-model” disaster, and when she finds herself living in a trailer, working in a diner, and stuck in the isolated mountain town where she grew up, she’s not sure how to turn it all around. When she meets Connor Charles, sparks fly, but is a mountain romance what either of them really needs?

For fans of Tracy Brogan and RayAnne Thayne, Delancey Stewart’s latest is filled with memorable characters, humor, family, and the happily ever afters we all deserve.

Love Rebuilt is the award-winning first book in Stewart’s new Kings Grove series – a small town romance series set beneath the Giant Sequoias in California.
