Maverick by Lisa Bingham: Bodey has always been highly competitive; Maverickhe loves the challenge of competing in a number of different arenas and pitting his smarts and skills against others. But he’s been forced to slow down and take it easier after an injury. This has meant focusing on the changes to his life since his brothers have more recently found significant others while Bodey has been playing the field without getting serious.

Beth is smart, determined, loyal, and has an affinity for steampunk. She is also very private. She wants to show up to work at the fair and do her job without drawing a lot of attention or making friends. She’s working to save up so she can move on to the next town in an attempt to continue outrunning her past.

Bodey is quite the charmer and never has problems pursuing women…until Beth. Unlike all of the women in his past, Beth doesn’t immediately fall for the sexy, charming cowboy. Neither are looking for any type of romantic entanglement, but Beth is a whole lot more guarded such that Bodey has to work to even get a smile from her.

“Not too fond of color, are we?”
Her eyes narrowed. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
He shrugged. “You’re going to roast alive in all that black.”
She crossed her arms-a particular piece of body language she was fond of using when he was around. “I hadn’t planned on staying out in the sun that long.”

Bodey lives by a code that he’s never been temped into breaking until meeting Beth. He’s drawn to her mix of innocence and tempting minx. It’s clear that they have great chemistry even when Beth tries to maintain her distance. After running for so long, Beth is reluctant to trust anyone, much less a man with no history of commitment.

“Helen told me to carry you off and ravish you.”
He heard her gasp.
“She did not!”
“I’m pretty sure that’s what I heard.”
“Then maybe you’d better get your hearing checked.”

Maverick is an entertaining, heartwarming romance centered around family. Lisa Bingham provided angst, drama, suspense, anticipation, and sizzle. Ms. Bingham created engaging characters with amusing banter. Maverick can be read as a standalone in the Taggart Brothers series. Fans of Vicki Lewis Thompson and Lorelei James will enjoy Maverick.

4SPublication: November 1st 2016 | Berkley | Taggart Brothers #3

The Taggart brothers’ wild romance ride continues with the new novel from the bestselling author of Renegade.

Rough riding Bodey Taggart may be rock hard and tough as nails, but even he has a soft side when the right woman comes along…

Bodey has always followed his own rules: live hard, play hard, and win big. But when his wild ways give him two concussions within a month of each other, his brothers lay down some new rules: no bronco busting, sky diving, or ATVs for the rest of summer. It seems the only pastimes not restricted are shooting competitions…and women.

Beth Tivoli is new to Bodey’s circle of friends, and unlike any woman Bodey has ever met—she isn’t about to follow him into bed. She’s not looking to hook up with anyone, especially when she’s trying to escape her past. Bodey quickly realizes that courting Beth is no game, and despite her resolve, they both begin to discover that maybe romance can be different this time around…
