Need You Now (Made in Montana #8) by Debbi Rawlins: Blackfoot Falls is your typical small town, where everybody knows everyone and gossip is a way of life. With the exception of college, Melanie Knowles has spent her entire life in Blackfoot Falls. She is a teacher at the local high school, her father is the town preacher and her mother fills the role of saint. Every move Melanie makes is scrutinized, commented upon and judged. Whew, the pressure she is under to be the perfect citizen is amazing, yet she handles it with a huge smile NYNand grace. Luckily, Melanie finds some peace and solace through her volunteer work at Safe Haven, a large animal sanctuary.

Lucas Sloan used to be a rancher, until he was incarcerated for doing the right thing. During his time in prison, he was part of Prison Reform Now or PRN, a program to rehabilitate prisoners by teaching them to tame, train and maintain wild horses. The program is extremely successful and now Lucas is one of their outside advocates. Lucas is in Blackfoot Falls to explain the program to Safe Haven, in hopes that PRN could use their facilities as a temporary stop while transferring horses between prisons.

Who would of thought that Melanie and Lucas would hit it off? The community do-gooder and ex-con create magic together, both in and out of the bedroom. Their passion is hot, sexy and sensual. Their quickly evolved relationship is much more than sex, it about caring, honesty and happiness. However, loving each other may not be enough for a future together. Melanie has a reputation to uphold and Lucas is in the process of building a new life.

To my complete surprise, I really enjoyed this novel. I have read quite a few books from the Made in Montana series, and this is the first one that I could not put down. The plot is refreshing, interesting and fast-paced. The characters are well-defined and likeable. Melanie and Lucas are irresistible as a couple and unbelievably down to earth separately. If you are in the mood for a small town romance with a sexy couple and an interesting storyline, read Need You Now.

The pastor’s daughter…and the bad boy!

Melanie Knowles is the Good Girl of Blackfoot Falls—pastor’s daughter, teacher, animal shelter volunteer and upstanding member of the community. And Good Girls are never naughty. Ever. But Melanie is in serious trouble…because Lucas Sloan’s wicked blue eyes and deliciously hard body could turn this saint into a very satisfied sinner!

Lucas just wanted the Safe Haven animal shelter to help out with the Wild Horse Training Program. Getting hot for teacher was not part of the plan. The magnetism between them is intense, fierce and irresistible. But Lucas has secrets—and if Blackfoot Falls ever finds out, his sexy little trysts with the town sweetheart will ruin Melanie’s golden reputation forever….

I’m glad to see you give this such a good review, Lauren, because I was iffy about getting it after it only got two stars in RT book reviews magazine. Your review tells me more about it so I can make a better judgment, so thank you.
