REVIEW: Plain Outsider by Alison Stone

Plain Outsider by Alison Stone: I first was “Introduced” to Becky’s character in a previous novel by Alison Stone, and it was a welcome treat to have a chance to hear Becky’s “story” and learn more about her character.

Becky was raised Amish, but left the community before Baptism in order to enter law enforcement. Considering Amish try to not become involved with law enforcement, this was not met well by her family. Becky feels a calling to serve the sheriff’s department and to help her Amish community. However, when she reports another officer for harming a young Amish man, all of a sudden she starts being on the receiving end of nasty attempts to harm her. Harrison, a new deputy, stays by her side to protect her and to find out who is after her.

This is a well written and swiftly moving story, as are all of Alison Stone’s novels. I so enjoy her writing, and I heartily recommend A Plain Outsider.
