Ready for Wild by Liora Blake: The last thing Braden wants is for some reality TV show to show up and disrupt his perfectly ordered life. He’s just fine as he is with his friends, his dog Charley, and his job as a game warden. He loves working outdoors and living in Colorado means there are plenty of opportunities for hunting and fishing.

Amber is determined to save her reality TV hunting show, Record Racks, by going back to her roots. While she may come across as some blonde bimbo in camo, she’s actually a kick-ass, take charge, sassy woman who just so happens to enjoy hunting. She’s also loyal, inquisitive, and hates being told what to do.

While Braden can and does appreciate Amber, he can’t stand hunting shows and all they represent…even Amber’s. Braden is typically gruff, but both delight in pushing each other’s buttons from the very first meeting.

“Just holler if you need me to stop or slow down. No shame in needing to catch your breath.”
She grinds her jaws together hard enough I can see her cheeks flex under the strain.
“Don’t worry about me.” Her brows tick up and a wry light flashes in her eyes. “I love a challenge.”

Neither are looking for a relationship, but they aren’t really prepared for the immediate and overwhelming attraction. They enjoy verbally sparring as they challenge each other. They are quite alike despite key differences, and they still enjoy baiting each other even after finally giving in to their chemistry.

“Will there be barbeque?” I ask. “The sort that proves your Texas superiority complex about brisket isn’t just some statewide delusion?”
Amber tosses her head back on a laugh.
“Damn straight. One bite and you’ll want to burn True Grit to the ground.”

Ready for Wild is fun, sexy, and very entertaining. Liora Blake returns to Hotchkiss with tension, anticipation, chemistry, and plenty of banter. Ms. Blake created an engaging cast of characters that I would love to revisit. Ready for Wild can be read as a standalone book in this series. Fans of Sydney Landon and Lorelei James will enjoy Ready for Wild.

Featuring Liora Blake’s signature “funny, endearing, and more than a little hot” (Library Journal) style, the third novel in the Grand Valley series features a rough-talking game warden going toe-to-toe with a TV star who unexpectedly turns his life upside down.

Braden Montgomery is certain about three things: one, luck is for suckers; two, time spent outdoors is what keeps him sane; and, three, when it comes to sharing his bed, there’s only one female he’s willing to put up with—his Chesapeake Bay retriever, Charley. Braden’s constructed his life on these beliefs, and he’s quite content with the status quo.

But when a moment of bad luck lands Braden toe-to-toe with a blonde bombshell with her own television show, his stubbornly structured reality begins to unravel.

As for Amber Regan, her brand has been built on camo, cut-offs, and cleavage. With her own hunting show on the foremost sports channel and enough social media followers to garner her plenty of endorsement deals, Amber’s come a long way from the tomboy in a small Texas town she once was. Unfortunately, ratings are down and her contract for next season is in limbo, so she’s in desperate need of a reboot to save her show—and filming a rough and tough archery elk hunt in Colorado might be the way to do just that. Too bad the local game warden grunts more than he speaks, seems determined to despise her—and makes her heart race in all the most inconvenient ways.
