Renegade by Lisa Bingham: Bronte was pushed to her limits when she suddenly packs up her Renegadedaughters and drives to her grandmother’s home in Utah. After so many years of trying to hold a marriage together and protect her daughters from the fallout, she can’t wait for the comfort of her grandmother and a safe place to land.

Jace gave up his dream of pursuing an art degree to return home, run the family ranch, and raise his younger brothers. He doesn’t regret stepping up for the family and business, but he longs for the artist he could have been.

Both Bronte and Jace are focused on their families and have no thought of looking for romance. Bronte is so used to doing everything herself that she is surprised when Jace offers his assistance and genuinely wants to help. Since they are neighbors, Jace and Bronte end up spending quite a bit of time together and their friendship quickly blossoms into more.

“Where are we going with this?” she whispered when they parted again.
Jace rested his forehead against hers. “I don’t know. But I don’t want to go it alone anymore,” he answered.
“Me either.”

While they find comfort in each other, they have to consider the ramifications of a relationship on their families. Jace is still responsible for his youngest brother and Bronte’s girls have to come to terms with their parent’s divorce and unexpected move.

“Besides, you look cute with it on.” His voice dropped, “I like having my name on you. It subtly claims that you’re mine-even if that makes me sound like a caveman.”
Bronte knew that as a modern woman, she should object to such a statement, but instead, she loved the idea of being claimed by Jace Taggert.

Renegade is an endearing and heartwarming look at families, friendship, and finding yourself. Lisa Bingham created two smart, loyal, and resilient characters in Jace and Bronte who were well-matched. Ms. Bingham also provided a heartwarming and scene-stealing character in Jace’s youngest brother. Renegade can be read as a standalone. Fans of Fiona Lowe, Lorelei James, and Vicki Lewis Thompson will enjoy Renegade.
