Rescued by the Millionaire by Cara Colter: Daniel Riverton is taking care of several things by moving into his friend’s apartment temporarily. 1. He’s getting out of the way of the renovations on his condo, 2. he’s avoiding his mother, who would show up on his doorstep if she knew where he was, and 3. he’s… well, he can’t think of the third one because he’s being driven to distraction by the noise 208178971coming from his upstairs neighbor.

Trixie Marsh had no idea that having her twin nieces visiting would be different than seeing them like she normally did. They were Hellions. Trying to keep them quiet was a never-ending job. Thankfully, they were busy playing some sort of mummy game, and she was exhausted. Before she knew it she’d fallen asleep. When she woke up, both Daniel and Trixie started an adventure neither of them were ready for.

Once Daniel heard the oddly quiet upstairs and the very loud thump, he knew he had to investigate. What he found led to a string of horrors he had no intention of getting himself into, but he found oddly drawn to nevertheless.

Nothing worked the way he expected it to, Trixie shunned his monetary help, she saw through his gruffness, and she even got him to contact his mother. She must have some witchy power, because nobody’s ever gotten him to do things he didn’t want to do. Of course, it sure doesn’t feel like he doesn’t want to do them anymore.

This book was so charming and sweet, even though it started off with some real terrifying characters. And I’m not just talking about Monsters One & Two. Daniel is quite a handful as well. I enjoyed that Trixie actually got Daniel to cancel some of his Alpha male plans without her actually finding out about them – felt a little like a sitcom. I was hoping a little that there’d be a mixup and Trixie would find out and BLAM, hijinx would ensue.

Very cute, very funny, also a nice resolution between some family on both sides. I really enjoyed. it.
