Rock, Rattle and Roll by Taryn Elliott & Cari Quinn: Once Deacon finally made Harper his, he wasn’t willing to wait another second to make it permanent. They were Mr. and Mrs. McCoy before you could spell ‘Tattoo’. But the honeymoon had to be put on hold. Harper was starting her catering business, and Deacon – along with the rest of Oblivion – RRRwere working on an album and gearing up for the craziness that would follow.

The couple managed to find a couple of weeks to get away, and by the time it arrived – boy howdy did they need it. Deacon was chomping at the bit to get Harper to himself, and Harper was just chomping. Barking orders at her staff, working herself to the bone, hell, they hadn’t even had time for more than sleep once they got into bed the days before their trip. High time to change that noise.

Deacon was her air. When life bombarded and suffocated, just the touch of his warm skin brought balance.

Sometimes it was the soft she needed and sometimes it was the desperate.

Right now, she was past desperation. She felt like every atom was vibrating apart.

Galveston was a slice of heaven compared to the chaos they left behind in LA. A cozy cottage on the beach, the sound of the waves just outside their windows – they were ready for this. Well, maybe Deacon was less ready than he thought. Harper was insatiable. They’d always been all over each other, but mercy – she was wearing him out. It was all he could do to get her outside for an hour or so – and even then she was making him crazy in the bar they found ten minutes from their bungalow.

And then real life hits. Just two days left in their getaway, and dammit – they just didn’t need a wrench like this. How were they supposed to deal with something so monumental when their whole life was already on fast-forward?

Man, I can’t even express how much I love these characters. Well, except Nick perhaps. Although I bet there will come a time when even that will change. Anyway, back to Deacon and Harper. This story was a addendum to ‘Rocked’, the first full-length novel int he “Lost in Oblivion” series. While this is categorized as a novella – it’s on the longer side. It’s definitely not a bad thing.

The Oblivion series is not for the faint of heart. This book was definitely heavier in tone than the first two (Prequel and #1), with some touchy subjects breached. But it’s not without the trademark humor and HOT sex. I swear, Deacon can heat up my kindle any time he wants. There were also mentions of the tattoo he got in ‘Rocked’, which actually has made me think about getting one myself. Such is the imagery found in these stories. Vivid and brilliant.

I just can’t get enough of these characters. Seriously. I’m looking forward to ‘Twisted’, which is the story of Gray and Jazz. It looks like it might tackle some even tougher stuff, but I think I’ll take the good with the bad anytime – if it means I get to read another collaboration between Taryn and Cari.

Loving in fast forward…

Love on the fast track has been the definition of Harper and Deacon McCoy’s relationship. In between studio sessions with Deacon’s band, Oblivion, and building a new clientele for Harper’s catering business, the newlyweds haven’t had time to sleep let alone have a honeymoon.

Deacon convinces Harper that they need a week alone together before her business as well as a new album and tour swallows them whole. Since Texas has always held special meaning for them, they head to Galveston to recharge and remember what it’s like to just be a couple.

A beachfront cottage, hours of alone time, and plenty of skin on skin action is just what the rock star ordered. Until the future once again comes much quicker than they expected, threatening to crumble not only their perfect honeymoon but also their brand new marriage.

bn100 – these books are SO GOOD. Taryn and Cari are such a great writing team – the second I finish one book in this series, I can’t wait for the next one.
