In Romancing the Montana Bride by Vella Munn, Jes and Shyla are meeting at the lake, at Romancing the Montana BrideShyla’s home to bring to an end the marriage they once had. Neither one of them is rushing though, and soon they are communicating and being together in ways they never have before. They are both different people now, but are they really ready to end what they once had? Some time together might or might not mean a second chance for them…if it’s not too late.

Romancing the Montana Bride was a bit difficult for me to get into and feel connected to. For a while I felt like I had been dropped into the middle of a story, and it took me a while to understand these intense characters and what was going on.

I could feel the connection between Jes and Shyla from the start, and through their words I could see how much they have both grown since they split up. They obviously still have feelings for each other, but I wasn’t sure if a weekend (an unplanned weekend together) would be enough or believable to fix what was broken in their marriage. That was not believable for me.

Romancing the Montana Bride is a quick to read novella. I think if it was a little longer and more developed it would have been more interesting for me and not feel so rushed.

Romance readers who enjoy second chance romance might like Romancing the Montana Bride.

Five years ago, Jes and Shyla Croft spent their honeymoon at Lake Serene. Now they’ve returned to end their marriage.

But rather than quickly getting the divorce over with like a business deal, they spend time reminiscing about the lake that once brought them together, realizing the sparks that ignited their relationship may not have entirely burnt out after all…

Then Jes hands Shyla a piece of paper that will make more of an impact on their futures than divorce papers…

Will what they thought was a final trip back to Lake Serene end up being enough to save their marriage?
