Tempted by a Cowboy by Sarah M. Anderson is the second part in the The Beaumont Heirs and can be easily read as a standalone. Philip Beaumont is an alcoholic and a playboy rolled into one. He is surprised when his new horse trainer, Jo Spears does TBTCnot swoon or fall for his charms. She challenges him at every turn and is reluctant to get involved with him. Philip wants nothing more  than a casual relationship with Jo until the the look in Jo’s haunted hazel eyes makes him yearn for more….

Jo’s boss is as jaded and stubborn as Sun, the multimillion-dollar stallion she was hired to train. But it isn’t long before she starts spending days and nights with the sexy cowboy. Maybe Sun isn’t the only male on the Beaumont ranch worth saving!

Tempted by a Cowboy by Sarah M Anderson shocked and surprised me on many levels but I am glad for it as I found the story to be quite memorable. It has an alcoholic hero whose struggles with alcoholism are depicted quite realistically. He is wasting his life on alcohol and running away from family responsibilities. Now handling such a hero takes some serious guts and the author manages to do that quite perfectly. I was actually rooting for him to finally find his solace with Jo in the end. Apart from one very drunk episode of his towards the end chapters, I liked him most of the time. That incident did sour my experience of the story because personally I thought it was all wrong morally. Jo is a strong heroine who hides her true self from everyone. There are many layers to her character and she is very realistically portrayed. I loved her throughout the story, especially when she refuses to let her love take second place in Philip’s life after alcohol. I loved her strength, her vulnerabilities and her courage.

The conflict in the romance is realistically portrayed and is really convincing. Philip and Jo are very involved on an emotional level when they decide to move on to the physical part. They work very well together and share an amazing chemistry in every way it matters.

Overall, Tempted by a Cowboy by Sarah M. Anderson is not your average romance. Its different, refreshing and should be read if you want to experience something different and enjoyable.

How can she resist the cowboy’s smile when it promises so much pleasure?

Phillip Beaumont likes his drinks strong and his women easy. So why is he flirting with his new horse trainer, Jo Spears, who challenges him at every turn? Phillip wants nothing but the chase…until the look in Jo’s haunted hazel eyes makes him yearn for more….

Sure, Jo’s boss is as jaded and stubborn as Sun, the multimillion-dollar stallion she was hired to train. But it isn’t long before she starts spending days and nights with the sexy cowboy. Maybe Sun isn’t the only male on the Beaumont ranch worth saving!

Thanks for the review, Ipshita. I’ve been hearing about this book for a while and I plan to read it. I like flawed characters and I want to see how the author deals with an alcoholic hero.
