The Baller’s Secret Baby by Normandie Alleman: When secrets are hidden and truths never faced you can’t be surprised that things don’t turn out as you had planned.

Eden Evans was a smart girl, a doctor even, but she didn’t see him coming. She was living life, thrilled to be doing what she loved and working hard to stay there. She was excited and life was good. Connecting with an old friend? An almost flame? That was just what she needed to throw some more fun into the fire, right?

Nick Barnes was tired of being played. Ever since his dad died his mom took over his career and his pathway, not asking just making the “best” moves for him. He was sick of it, so he went out looking for ways to break free. As a star basketball player any number of things could happen. So a chance to break free with an old friend and get really close and cozy at the same time? Why not jump at that chance.

When Nick’s mom decides to step back in though things change and dynamics shift. Will Eden and Nick be able to move forward? Or will Momma be the end of the future?

This is the a part of the Barnes Family series but can be read as a stand alone. Once you’ve read it though you are going to want to keep reading. The pages are steamy and the story compelling. Word choices help the flow and the banter is wonderfully dynamic. Overall a story that will have you kicking, screaming, loving and wanting to shake people. Be ready for an emotional ride that you will love.

He may be a player, but this stud’s not shooting blanks.

NICK
I’m nobody’s baby daddy.
I don’t care how many stunning women throw themselves at me,
looking to turn one hot night into an eighteen-year paycheck.
I’ve got way too much on the line to throw it away for one night of pleasure.

Ball is life, and basketball is my first priority.
I’ve got a championship to win.
But when I see her,
shaking those pom-poms on the sideline,
I’m transported back to childhood.
Reminded of the days before a fiery plane crash ripped our lives apart,
forcing us to grow up overnight.
Back then, Eden Evans stole my heart,
and this time, I might be ready to let her keep it.

EDEN
I have no interest in a man who comes with groupies.
With a rock legend for a father, I’ve seen the toll fame takes on a marriage.
The last thing I need is a guy with more Twitter followers than Justin Beiber.

So when Nick Barnes dribbles his way back into my life,
My heart and head go into battle.
I can’t fight my desire for the sexy baller with his eight-pack abs
and panty-dropping charm.
And when that little stick shows an unmistakable plus sign,
suddenly, everything is on the line.

With a secret baby on the way, will Nick realize that having the home court advantage is what he’s wanted all along?

This is a standalone romance novel with a HEA and no cliffhangers. Light on basketball and heavy on steamy romance, this first book featuring members of the Barnes family.
