REVIEW: The Cowboy’s Destiny by Marin Thomas

In The Cowboy’s Destiny by Marin Thomas, Destiny Saunders is one tough gal. She has lived a hard life and has found a way to keep moving forward and make a better life for herself. She has become the mechanic and the mayor for the little town of Lizard Gulch, Arizona. Only as she is about to walk down the aisle she is left waiting for the groom, who never shows up.

The-Cowboy’s-Destiny-by-Marin-ThomasAs Destiny is walking out of the church after waiting many hours for her fiancé to show up, she finds a truck on the side of the road. As the only mechanic close by she decides to find out if the cowboy needs help or if he is just taking a nap.

Buck Owens Cash has been on the road since the fight with his brother Will after he found out that Buck knew about his son and didn’t tell him. He knows that he was wrong in not telling Will and so he left when Will kicked him out and is giving Will the time he needs to forgive him.

Now he was on his way to the next rodeo when his truck broke down. He knows what is wrong but he needed some rest before he found a place to sell him the pary he needed. Only he suddenly wakes up to a woman knocking on his window trying to find out if he needs help. When she offers to see what’s wrong he indulges her and pretends he doesn’t know what’s wrong with his truck.

When Destiny offers to take him to town and get a tow truck for him, he accepts. The white leather pants and the veil she is wearing surprise Buck, as does the motorcycle she is riding. He figures that she was just left at the altar, and can’t figure what man could leave her. He figures that since she was just left at the altar she is not available, only that doesn’t really matter as he is attracted to her.

As he arrives in Lizard Gulch with Destiny he thinks that he can get the mechanic to tow his truck and fix it and then he can leave by night. But things don’t always go as planned, he soon finds out that Destiny is the mechanic and he really likes the equipment she has.

Destiny knows that she made a big mistake when she slept with the father of her baby during a drinking binge, and how she wishes that Buck would have shown up a few months before in her life, when she could have given herself to him instead and maybe even have been carrying his baby instead. But that doesn’t mean that she can’t have a fling with him, but first she has to find a way to keep him in town longer. Which is how she loosens a part of the car and tells him he has to wait for her to order it and the piece be delivered before he can leave.

Buck is a mechanic too and knows that she loosened a few screws and that the piece is not broken, yet he cannot stop himself from wanting to find out what she has in mind.

Things will get interesting between Buck and Destiny, she has a past she has not gotten over and cannot leave behind, as well as a child she is expecting and not telling Buck about. While Buck also has his issues, he likes things to be as straight forward as possible. So the fact the Destiny is hiding things from him, even after they sleep together and falls in love with her is not something that he can easily forgive or forget.

I am loving the Cash brothers series, each one breaks my heart and makes me cheer them on to get their own HEA. They have all had a rough life so watching them fall in love and fight for what they deserve is fun to read about.

If you want a sweet, heartbreaking and fun read, don’t miss The Cowboy’s Destiny by Marin Thomas.
