In The Man She Can’t Forget by Maggie Cox, Lara Bradley is surprised to see her long time crush and her late brother’s best friend at her doorstep. She never forgot Gabriel Devenish and she never expected to feel a whole lot of whirlwind emotions on seeing him after so many 19302559years.

Gabriel knows he should walk away from Lara, and must show her that a happy-ever-after with him is futile. But proving just how wrong he is for her only makes him realize how just right she makes him feel…threatening the very foundations of the wall he’s built around his heart

The Man She Can’t Forget by Maggie Cox is a well written romance with an enjoyable plot-line. The romance is leaning more towards how he characters connect emotionally as compared to the physical side. Therefore, I found the romance to be believable and tending more towards the realistic side. Lara is a sweet heroine who has been in love with Gabriel since she was sixteen year old. He rejected her advances in the past as she was very young and his best friend’s younger sister. Gabriel is an alpha hero but he respects and cares for Lara. His ideologies were in direct contrast to Lara’s principles. I did not agree with both Lara and Gabriel viewpoints regarding life and therefore connecting with them was difficult. Gabriel was too much a cynic due to his unfortunate past and Lara was way too positive and sweet to be believable.

Overall, The Man She Can’t Forget by Maggie Cox tells an enjoyable romantic story but does not have enough sophistication and glamour as expected from a Harlequin Presents.
