InThe Secret Beneath the Veil by Dani Collins, With a wedding, Mikolas Petrides The-Secret-Beneath-the-Veilsecures a vital business merger and finally repays his grandfather for rescuing him from the horrors of his childhood. But when he lifts his new bride’s veil, it’s not the woman he was expecting!

Viveka Brice will do anything to protect her little sister, even pretend to marry a stranger. Her deception revealed, she flees the wedding, but is soon confronted by Mikolas. He is a man who always get what he wants, and if the marriage is off, Viveka will have to compensate him—by becoming his mistress instead!

A well written passionate romance on the deception trope, The Secret Beneath the Veil was an enjoyable read till the last page.

Mikolas and Viveka both have suffered a lot in their past and it was endearing how both of them helped each other heal emotionally. Viveka is a vulnerable but spirited heroine who is ready to sacrifice everything for the people she really cares about like her sister. Mikolas is an alpha male who has emotional and physical scars from his past. He owes everything to his grandfather and is willing to do anything to repay the debt. I loved his intensity, the way he cared and the way his dominating nature did not cross any boundaries.

Mikolas and Viveka shared an amazing chemistry which made their romance even more passionate. The pacing of the story could have been better (imo) but overall, an enjoyable romance that is recommended for people who love this trope.
