The Secret Wedding Dress by Ally Blake is a fun and sexy romance that will keep you hooked till the end.

Paige Danforth is not interested in getting married or anything permanent. But when she accompanies her best friend, who is getting married, to a wedding dress sale, she finds herself buying a dress herself. It’s a beautiful dress, but she has no intention of wearing it. TSWDShe knows there is no happily ever after for her, especially after everything she saw her parents go through.

Paige blinked. And again. But the dress was gone. And her heart skipped a beat.
She’d heard the expression a million times, only had never experienced it until that moment. Didn’t re- alise it came complete with a tightening of her throat,
a sudden lightness in her head, and the complete ces- sation of thought.
Then someone moved, the ray of light returned, and there it was. (Blake 14)

Gabe Hamilton is back in Melbourne, but not for long if he can help it. Melbourne holds many bad memories for him and he rather be anywhere else. But after a long flight and long ride from the airport he is finally arrives at his penthouse and much to his his surprise there’s a woman in the elevator much to eager to shut the door on him.

The chemistry between Gabe and Paige is so potent they feel it the moment they are both inside the elevator, but Gabe is too tired and Paige is to stand-offish to start something. But Gabe can’t walk away from a challenge. The good thing is that they are both looking for an affair only, not anything permanent or so they think.

‘When are you going back to Brazil?’
‘I’m not,’ he said, and Paige’s stomach fell to her shoes. Then, ‘That deal’s done. But I will be leaving as soon as I’m done here. I follow the work, and ninety per cent of the time it’s many many miles from here.’
She breathed out a sigh of relief so loud she closed her eyes tight against the embarrassment of it.
‘Wrong answer?’ he asked, and she was surprised to find humour in his voice.
She screwed up her eyes. ‘Will it sound callous if I say that’s the right answer?’
‘It does a bit,’ he said, his smile growing. He gath- ered her to him, sliding his hands over her hips, his thumbs trailing hot and tempting spirals over her lower back. ‘But then it seems I’m into callous women.’ (Blake 101)

Paige and Gabe must let go of the past and their misconceptions if they are to have anything more than just a really hot affair.

Ally has an amazing voice, her narration is always fun, flirty and entertaining and she always seizes to capture my attention from the very start. The Secret Wedding Dress is a great contemporary read and I would definitely recommend it to one and all.
