Till-I-Kissed-YouTill I Kissed You by Laura Trentham is book three in the Cottonbloom novels and my favorite of the three novels. I have to admit I was a little reserved in the beginning, because the story starts off with talk about the hero cheating, but not all is how it appears. This is a very safe book and filled with romance that made my heart sigh happily. Regan and Sawyer both get a second chance at love in this well-developed novel.

Regan and Sawyer are as different as can be. Both on opposite sides of the river and both nursing some old age hurt that happened more than a decade ago. Sawyer won’t forget how Regan’s mother treated him and her disapproval of him and Regan can’t forget what she saw the night they were on a break. When I was reading this, I was actually picturing the scene from Friends, where Ross and Rachel were on a break….only more southern.

When Regan receives some threatening letters and her shop becomes vandalized, Sawyer immediately jumps in to help her. As they both work together to try to figure out who is behind the letters, they become closer and can no longer deny their attraction to each other. The same attraction that never went away.

“The smile he aimed at her made her press a hand over her heart. The damn thing actually fluttered. It has been a long time since he’d turned the force of his charm on her, and it seemed the years hadn’t tempered her girlish reaction. If anything, the years without his smile made her aware of how much she’d missed it. Missed him.”

There were times when I wanted to strangle both characters because of the misunderstandings that kept occurring. Communication really is key, and both people in a relationship must learn to listen what the other has to say. With love and communication, anything is possible and for these two, it’s a chance for healing and second chances. I was very pleased how this story turned out and truly impressed with the small-town aspect of the series. Overall, Till I Kissed You, is highly recommended to anyone who loves second chance romances.

It’s summertime in Cottonbloom, where two lovers find themselves at a crossroads just as things start to heat up. . .

Regan Lovell grew up on the wealthy Mississippi side of Cottonbloom—and now, as mayor, she’s determined to save it from the fate of so many small towns. Part of her plan to help the local economy is the Labor Day tomato festival. If only she wasn’t being undermined by Sawyer Fournette, who’s planning a crayfish-themed celebration on the Louisiana side of the river on the very same weekend. The pranks and sabotage are getting out of hand, and she’s had it with him—no matter how much she enjoyed those stolen hours in his truck bed, so many years ago…

Sawyer knows that Regan’s never forgiven him for breaking her heart—but despite his reputation as a low-class swamp rat, he’d never hurt the woman who still secretly drives him crazy with desire. Someone in Cottonbloom has it out for her, though, and Sawyer intends to watch her back…and the rest of her too, if she can ever let go of her distrust. But will a common enemy be enough to unite them—and finally fulfill the promises they made one passionate night under the stars?
