To the Limit by Jo Leigh is primarily about two people; air-force captain and pilot Sam Brody and college professor Emma Lockwood. They have known each other for years and share an unacknowledged attraction. The story is about their relationship both past and present. Due to eye surgery gone bad, Sam is grounded and reassigned to the air force base in TTLAlamogordo, New Mexico, where Emma still lives. Sam’s new job as a flight instructor is something he is not looking forward to, mainly because his need for speed can no longer be satisfied.

Sam, Danny Lockwood and John Devlin attended the Air Force Academy together and became best friends instantly. They shared a house and worked very hard in order to be able to fly F-16s. Emma Taylor waitressed at the local diner that the pilot trainees frequented. Emma and Danny fell in love at first sight and married a year later. Unfortunately, Emma was widowed at a very young age when Danny died in an accident.

It has been three years since Emma saw Sam at Danny’s funeral and she is surprised when Sam gives her a call. The spark is still there after the years they have been apart. The time is finally right for them to begin a relationship. However, Emma is very concerned about being with an adrenaline addict once again, while Sam is wrestling with the lack of adrenaline as an instructor. With Emma’s help, his teaching skills begin to develop and he starts to actually enjoy being on the outside of an aircraft.

Their relationship develops slowly and their passion is hot. Emma and Sam are able to work through their issues and plan a future together.

This romance is sweet and slightly spicy. If you want a quick read that has a happy ending, try this book.

This sounds like a nice romance. I usually love friends to lovers, but the story looks pretty good. Thanks for the review. Will check Emma story later.
