In Try Me On For Size by Stephanie Haefner, Mia Montanari isn’t quite sure how she got roped into going on several blind dates to save her lingerie boutique Classy ‘n’ Sassy. But somehow when her best friend and business partner Bryn explained it, everything made sense. Her assignment? To get to know five male models in the biblical sense so she can recommend one guy and have a mold made of his, well, favorite body part which will become an adult toy they will feature in their shop. Guy number one is off-the-charts hot TmofS2and somehow Mia’s feelings become involved before she can even blink or finish the rest of her research. When she finds out Oliver was not forthcoming about himself, their working relationship becomes awkward to say the least. Mia then becomes torn between doing the right thing for her struggling business, and protecting her heart from being hurt again.

‘Lesson learned: even nice guys could be jerks. It’d be a long time before she trusted any man again, if ever.’

Oliver Christensen has grown accustomed to certain expectations thanks to the social standards he’s dealt with his entire life. Being a stand up guy and doing what is right for his family takes precedence over his own needs. But his current situation has him frustrated beyond belief. So when he notices stunning Mia while having a drink one night, Oliver has to get to know her better. He realizes too late that she thinks he’s someone else and decides to just go with it for the time being. Oliver never imagined how deep of a hole he would dig himself into. Or how quickly he would fall for Mia. If he tells the truth now, will he lose the happiness he just found? Or will he be granted a second chance?

‘Oliver’s entire life had been about responsibilities and commitment. Maybe it was time to stop being so damn respectable.’

Try Me On For Size is a fun and super sexy romance that had me giggling like a schoolgirl with Mia and Bryn’s completely open and honest conversations about how to spice up their lingerie shop.

There is no denying that this story will not be for everyone. The dialogue is extremely naughty and comical. Plus, just the idea of Mia having to, um, “test” out the models to find the right guy (or spokespenis) for their new adult product line was pretty racy. But it worked. So well. And I loved the fact that author Stephanie Haefner allowed Mia to have real emotions in every situation. I could relate to her feeling awkward having to get up close and personal with the five models, and her anger toward Oliver over his lies seemed natural to me. I also thought it was interesting that Oliver and Mia had similar problems with their families, even though they seemed to come from different social circles. It was a bond they shared that others around them may not have understood the way they did.

I will say that Oliver’s lies were a sticking point for me at first, but I mellowed out about it once I really got an idea of what he was going through. I still don’t advocate lying, but I can see the reasoning behind his actions. My only gripe with Mia was her fussiness when it came to men. She had broken up with guys in the past for leaving dirty socks on the floor and having ragged fingernails. Jeez. But I think what it really came down to for her was fear. She saw what her BFF Bryn went through suddenly losing her husband, and Mia was afraid she wouldn’t be strong enough if the same happened to her. So…by the end of the story I could sympathize with her inner struggle, and thankfully everything worked out for our lovebirds.

If you’re not afraid of raunchiness and a whole lotta emotion in your romances, check out Try Me On For Size. It was a wildly entertaining story.
