Unexpectedly Hers by Jamie Beck: Emma is known as the good girl of Sterling Canyon. She works with her mom at their B & B and spends her time volunteering. She never does anything to draw attention to herself. Unbeknownst to her friends and family, she’s about to release her very first book under a pen name since it’s an erotic romance.

Wyatt is a talented and well-known snowboarder. He loves the thrill and adventure of competing. The best part was sharing the love of snowboarding with his brother until a horrible accident. Wyatt took time away to help his brother deal with the injuries, but now he’s ready to prove to the world and his family that he is back. He’s taking some time in Sterling Canyon to prepare for the upcoming season and having his journey filmed for a documentary.

Emma has spent years hiding the fiery and passionate side of herself due to her strict and conservative mother. But she indulged for just one amazing night with none other than Wyatt years ago. Then Wyatt turns up as a guest at the B & B for the next month and doesn’t remember her or their night together.

“Why don’t you like me?”
“Did you come to that conclusion simply because, unlike other women, I’m not jumping into your bed?” Emma slid the bowl of crumbled cake toward her and mixed it together with the icing. “I like you just fine for someone I barely know. I’m just not interested in being the next notch on your bedpost.”

Emma is hoping to make it through the month while keeping her distance and her secret. She didn’t bank on a changed Wyatt who was determined to get under her skin. The chemistry still simmers between them and Wyatt is persistent when it comes to getting Emma to show a passionate side he just knows exists. They clash over just about everything, but Wyatt can’t stop himself from pursuing her anyway.

“I’m proud of you.” She gave him an extra squeeze before easing away.
Before he let her go, he kissed her. “Thank you, for everything. Even though you never agree with me, you always make me feel better. How is that possible?”
“It’s my special gift.”

Unexpectedly Hers is sweet, sexy, entertaining, and heartwarming. Jamie Beck created a good balance between the romance and character development. Ms. Beck provided an interesting mix of secondary characters, including Kelsey, Trip, Grey, and Avery from the other books in the series. Unexpectedly Hers can be read as a standalone in the Sterling Canyon series. Fans of Kris Fletcher and Jules Bennett will enjoy Unexpectedly Hers.

Book Info:

 Expected publication: February 21st 2017 | Montlake Romance | Sterling Canyon #3

By day, bashful wallflower Emma Duffy works at her family’s bed-and-breakfast. By night, she secretly pens erotic romance hot enough to melt the snow in their cozy Rockies town.

But Emma’s real life is about to heat up when her mother books the entire inn to a professional snowboarder, hoping the publicity will put them on the map. In a karmic twist of fate, that guest is Wyatt Lawson, the man with whom Emma had shared the secret one-night stand that became the inspiration for her novel and its dreamy hero. Worse, a film crew is documenting his comeback just as her debut is about to hit the shelves. Emma’s only saving grace is that Wyatt doesn’t remember her—and hopefully he never will.

When Wyatt arrives in Sterling Canyon for several weeks of intense training, the last tumble he expects to take is falling for a girl, especially one as shy as Emma. Unlike groupies with their hidden agendas, she isn’t using him—or so he believes…until the film crew uncovers Emma’s pen name and steamy novel.

Wyatt’s comeback run can withstand a fall or two, but can his heart recover from this crash and burn?
