In White-Hot Hack (Kate and Ian #2) by Tracey Garvis-Graves, Hacker Ian Bradshaw White-Hot-Hackisn’t sure what he ever did to deserve having Kate Watts come into his life, but he’s not going to let her go ever again. After the hell he was forced to put her through when his life was in jeopardy, he’s trying to take things slow now and build up his new white-hat security business while enjoying their newlywed status. Kate loves spending her days with her sexy husband in their spacious new home in Virginia but begins to worry that restlessness will soon set in.

When the kiss ended, she looked into his green eyes and covered his face with her hands, pretending she couldn’t stand to look at it. “Put your face away. I can’t handle this much handsome.”
“It’s blinding, isn’t it?” He grabbed her wrists and removed her hands from his face, smiling wide.
She laughed. “Humility. You should look into it.”

When Ian and Kate begin to work together on social engineering projects, she feels empowered with her abilities to help him with his new business. But they soon begin to notice a few random things happening that add up the possibility of being tracked down by a former threat. Even with extra precautions being taken, they remain vigilant in looking out for each other’s safety. But Ian’s contacts at the FBI warn him of new problems popping up from hacktivists that may threaten the Eastern seaboard. He left behind his work with the government to keep Kate safe. However, it may be the only way to figure out exactly who is after them and to put a stop to it for once and for all.

“Do you know why I call you sweetness?”
She propped herself up on her arm and smiled down at him. “I thought it was just your preferred term of endearment.”
“It is, but I call you sweetness because everything in my life got sweeter the minute you became a part of it. You’re exactly the woman I always hoped I’d find.”

White-Hot Hack was the thrilling conclusion to Kate and Ian’s epic romance. This short story was chock full of intrigue and that sexy, intelligent flirtatiousness that, to me, defined this power couple.

Ian and Kate quickly became one of my favorite book couples after I read (devoured) Heart-Shaped Hack. I loved the sense of playfulness between them, even when things got very tense and serious. The same was true here. They once again had to deal with a personal threat against them and they proved how well they worked together during their investigation. I thought Tracey Garvis-Graves did a great job showing Ian and Kate in their roles as protective spouses. This was the next step in their relationship and they didn’t shy away from the tougher choices they had to make. Best of all, they made the decisions together as they promised they would.

The conversations and sexy-time scenes were just as wonderfully done as they were in book one. I laughed over and over again at Ian’s endearingly cocky attitude and Kate’s ability to lay on the sarcasm. They made a fun team, sparring back and forth verbally. And of course their chemistry was still off-the-charts hot. They were the quintessential newlyweds who couldn’t stay away from each other for even a day. I loved that this showed them shortly after their marriage and then continued a few years later in the epilogue so we could see that they were still completely in love. It gave their romance a great ending while still leaving a part of the story open so that we may see something from their castmates in the future.

With numerous scenes that proved why this lively couple was perfect for each other, White-Hot Hack was everything I could have hoped for in a sequel. Between the exciting plot and the charming characters, I think fans will be fully satisfied.

Their love story began in Heart-Shaped Hack. Join Kate and Ian for the thrilling conclusion in White-Hot Hack.

When cybercriminals doxed undercover hacker Ian Bradshaw and forced him to flee, he begged Kate Watts for forgiveness and vowed never to hurt her again. He also convinced her to marry him, and when their idyllic summer on Roanoke Island comes to an end, the newlyweds relocate to their new home deep in the heart of Virginia’s horse and wine country. Ian still struggles with boundaries, but he keeps Kate’s lingerie drawer filled with surprises, and there’s no shortage of number-six kisses. There’s even a fast, new car to replace his beloved Shelby.

Ian promised Kate that life with him would never be boring, but spending her days picking out paint colors and going to Pilates isn’t going to cut it. Meanwhile, Ian discovers that building a white-hat security firm from the ground up seems harder the second time around, and he might have underestimated how much he’d miss the undercover work he walked away from. To make matters worse, the hacktivists are threatening national security, and the task force could really use Ian’s help.

Kate and Ian have always worried that their past would catch up to them, and when faced with the biggest showdown of their lives, they must capitalize on the one thing they excel at most: teamwork. Ian claims no one is a better hacker than him, but in order to triumph, he’ll have to prove it. And if he can’t, he risks losing the woman whose heart he worked so hard to hack.
