Today it is my pleasure to feature a brand new anthology from Entangled Indulgence: When Honey Got Married by Kimberly Lang, Anna Cleary, Kelly Hunter & Ally Blake

Four high school friends and a high society bride reunite to celebrate the wedding of the year with the sexy, successful men who steal their hearts and set their skin aflame…

WHGM

A wedding planner should never mix business and pleasure, but Grace couldn’t resist breaking rule number one for a hot night with her high school crush!
Eve hoped to make one last play for the groom-who-got-away…but instead the down-on-her-romantic-luck actress instead found herself in dark corners with his successful, seductive cousin.
The sister of the bride needed a date of convenience and who better than her hazel-eyed, mysterious co-worker? If only Nina could keep her hands off his perfect body until she learned his true identity…
The groom proposed to her eight years earlier, but it was the steamy kiss that Pippa shared with his brother the night she left town that haunted her memories.  Now she’s back and sharing much more than just kisses.
Nothing was going to ruin Honey’s wedding to the man of her dreams.  And she has just the wedding surprise for her beloved groom!

I asked each of the authors to talk about their favorite scene from their book, here’s what they each had to say…

For Nina Tempted The Lord (Kelly Hunter)

kellyFriends-to-lovers stories have the most marvelous elephant in the room. It’s the ‘do you want to be more than just friends?’ question and it hangs there in every scene, ignored, unasked. And then someone finally builds up the courage to ask it, and hello. Let the dance begin.

Alexander Carradice is an incorrigible flirt, a charming rogue and Nina’s platonic friend. Right up until he asks her what she wants in a man, and, when Nina regales him with her wish list says, ‘why don’t you try me?’. That moment… when they’re sitting in the bar and grill and Alex turns their friendship upside down… That’s my favorite.

For Pippa Bared All by Ally Blake

AllyBlake-bioThe one that comes instantly to mind is a flash back.

Pippa and Griff have a history. We know that going in. And this scene is where it reveals how it all began. While writing it I saw it all with such clarity – midnight moonlight pouring through open French doors of Griff’s family home, the scent of honeysuckle on the air. Pippa a seventeen-year-old mess, launching herself into the Delacroix kitchen to grab food to take on the road as she prepares to leave town for good…

What she found instead was “Griff standing in front of the open fridge door surrounded by a white cloud of vapor. No shirt. Pajama bottoms riding low on his hips. Unconsciously scratching at his flat belly with one hand.” When he turned, when he saw her, the look in his eyes as he spied the battered suitcase at her feet… That was the moment I fell for Griff. Pippa got there first ;).

For Eve Met Her Match by Anna Cleary

annaclearyOne of my favourite scenes in Eve Met Her Match is the one where Rainer is cajoling Eve into spilling the truth about her unrequited love for Brent.

Eve is something of an actress, and so beautiful and alluring she takes her ability to ensnare men for granted. Even when she’s not in the mood for flirtation she can’t help using her wiles on any helpless man within cooee. That’s why I love this scene. As Eve tries to explain to Rainer her confusion over her failure to win Brent, she’s automatically turning the full blast of her charm and beguiling ways onto Rainer. But at the same time, and with utter deliberation, Rainer is employing his considerable wiles to seduce her.
With such a sexy, stand-up guy determined to have his way, poor Eve doesn’t stand a chance!

For Grace Felt the Heat by Kimberly Lang

KLangMy favorite scene is probably the when Beau cooks for Grace at her place. Grace doesn’t know how to cook (and doesn’t really want to anyway), and Beau, being a chef, wants to feed her. But trying to cook in the kitchen of someone who doesn’t cook has its difficulties – the lack of any decent ingredients, mainly. Here’s this fabulous chef nearly stymied at the one thing he really does well simply because she’s so poor at it. And there’s a bit of an inside joke in that scene for me and my hubby. When Beau finds her can of processed Parmesan cheese in the fridge, he refers to it as “evil.” That is exactly what my hubby said to me when he found it in my fridge!

When my younger sister got married the wedding took place on a golf course, for rehearsal we all took golf carts to the green where they were getting married on the next day, it was quite a sight watching everyone in their golfcarts-some people were never on a golfcart before-let alone driven one. What a sight!

The runner was never unrolled. So when I reached the end of the aisle, I disgustedly said, “Is this really supposed to be here?” (on videotape). I never saw my husband’s friend move so fast to take care of something.

At my friends wedding they kidnapped her after the church wedding and toke her to bars before coming to the reception. We sure were hungry by the time they showed up. LOL. Beautiful book cover. Sounds like a great book.

How about the reception, where I had to try & seat my father & his 3rd wife, his 2nd wife & her husband, and my mother, with minimal contact, and fitting other relatives in the mix!

My daughter was a flower girl and she was given a basket of rose petals. After wards, she went back and collected all the petals

When my sister and I were in a wedding whrn we were younger my mom had to bribe her to wear the dress.

I have a hilarious wedding story to tell. My Mom basically was trying to sabotage my sister’s wedding. She wasn’t very happy that my sister was the first to get marry and was leaving the family. She subconsciously was doing things to derail the wedding ceremony. My sisters and I went more time trying to do damage control and of course tries to keep Bridezilla calm.

My niece was 2 when she was my flower girl. She decided the flower basket was too much work and had her brother, the ring bearer, carry it down the aisle for her!

At my cousin’s wedding, they sold instant bingo tickets.

First things first. Manners! Many thanks for hosting us, Sarah, and thanks also to those who took the time to comment.

I used to run the bar at a seafood restaurant on the beach (in Aus). Very popular place for wedding receptions. When the bride’s family are non drinkers and the groom’s family are BIG drinkers (or vice versa)… that can get interesting fast!

I was maid of honor at a wedding my Sophomore year of College. The wedding reception was held right across from the University. The “getaway car” was a gorgeous vintage Bentley. The brides 6 sisters and I were attaching streamers and cans to the back of the car when wedding photographers came over and took photos. They asked us to pose on and around the car, we were all hamming it up, laying across the hood, blowing kisses to the camera, etc.

Turns out they were University students who did a huge article in the quarterly campus newsletter with our photos plastered on the cover and several other pages.

We were teased by strangers on and off campus for weeks and weeks afterward… I was picked on specifically because I am 5’9″ and had waist length blond hair at the time. The bride and her 6 sisters are all Japanese and no one is taller than 5’3″…

Well, I have *a* wedding story to share. My mom’s best friend wanted to get married, but she didn’t tell anyone except for her now-husband’s family and us. She said it was bad luck to tell anyone else. It was a courthouse wedding, very simply and quick.
She’s going to have a celebration (kind of like a really late reception) in June, which I unfortunately can’t make, but it was nice to be included in her really small and secret wedding.

Oh recently answered that question so here it is 😀

Alright here is a story, my wedding. My husband thought he had this really cute idea while we were shopping for extra things for the wedding and saw this ring bearer pillow for a dog, and kept telling me how cute it would be if our pug carried the rings. Well I saw pictures online from a wedding who have done this and it was kinda of adorable so I finally caved right… big mistake. The girl who took the dog wasn’t paying attention. My husband attached the rings too lose and they came off and got lost in the grass somewhere in the field. No one told me this so I am sitting in the car waiting for this wedding to start when suddenly I see people running around back and forth like chickens with their heads cut off..so i am like, okay whats the delay… and then my uncle comes to tell my father but not ME and I realize then and there that the dog lost our wedding rings. They had all the guests, including the catering crew, the dj, and the priest searching the field for our rings. They couldn’t find them for the ceremony, but we ended up getting rings borrowed from two of the strongest and longest marriages, which was a sweet symbol. So while we were greeting our guests after the fact, my husbands uncle found the rings!! and the priest had us say I do with them as well 🙂 the comment was, “I don’t think I ever seen anyone get married twice in one day” so its was funny in the end.

No really funny stories to share, only that at one wedding, the couple couldn’t get the unity candle to light. They tried several times and then the minister tried and finally got it lit.

  15. Olga

I don’t have a fun or funny wedding story to share with us. I have been only to one wedding: my uncle’s wedding when I was a small girl 🙂

  16. Anna Cleary

Some of these stories are so funny. Didn’t you think that ring-bearing dog was tempting fate, Lily? The worst wedding disaster I can recall concerned warring wives. The bride wanted her dad AND her mum to walk her down the aisle, which would have been fine except that her dad’s current wife, a highly strung person who harboured intense suspicions, guilt, jealousy and resentment towards the first wife, (the bride’s mother) couldn’t stomach the sight of her man walking down the aisle with his ex. All sorts of hell broke loose!

  17. Shadow

No. Ive only been to one wedding and it wasnt that great. the people there were really snooty. no funny moments.

  18. Amanda Gardner

Somewhat funny story at a wedding: I was the flower girl at my cousin’s wedding, I had a loose tooth that I was playing with (hitting it with my tongue) at the reception and I think I actually lost the tooth not that long after the wedding. My cousins remember that I had a loose tooth and they will sometimes remind me about it when we discuss weddings.

  19. Rhianna

I’ll just say it involved the daughter of the bride (the flower girl) bursting into tears as her mom was getting remarried. When people kept asking her why she howled ‘I’m just so happy!’ which was the exact opposite of the truth. Everyone thought it was a hilarious story and frequently retold it until years later when her mom divorced and she finally could tell everyone how miserable she was over her mom’s marriage. Funny at the time for everyone around but not so funny for the poor kid.
