Today it is  my Pleasure to Spotlight USA Today and NYT bestselling author of “Wrong Bed, Right Guy” Katee Roberts!

Tell us a little about Katee…

Let’s see… I’m a giant nerd with a slight obsession with tattoos, comic books, and really cheap red wine.

What inspired you to be an author? Is it something you always aspired to be?

Katee:Like so many authors, I’ve been writing in one way or another since forever. It’s only about five years ago that I sat down and decided, “Hey, I want to do this and be published.” It’s been a long road, and it’s not over yet. I learn new stuff with every book.

If you were written about in the newspaper, on the front page, what would the headline say?

Katee: “Drunk writer builds zombie compound and threatens trespassers with deadly force.” Just wait. It’ll happen.

Let’s talk about your new release “Wrong Bed, Right Guy”

If you had to sum up “Wrong Bed, Right Guy” for us….

Katee: A proper lady crawls into bed with the wrong man, and hilarious chaos and sexy times ensue.

What sparked the idea for book..

Katee: I had a conversation with my editor that went something like this:

Her: Wrong Bed books annoy me. They always include infidelity.

Me: I’m going to write you one that doesn’t!

From there, it was me chasing the story down the rabbit hole.

Your favorite part of this book…

Katee: The scene in the grocery store after Gabe gives Elle flowers. He’s so cute and clueless when he’s trying to take care of her. That, more than anything, made me fall in love with him.

Hey! Elle and Gabe, Thanks for stopping by to answer a few questions….

Elle what was your first impression of Gabe

He wasn’t Nathan! But, even when I was running out of the room, I noticed that sinful mouth and those really sex tattoos.

Gabe what are the 3 things you love about Elle

How strong she is, even if it’s not a conventional strength, the fact she understands what ink and that it means the same thing for both of us, and her complete inability to use cuss words.

Elle would you change the way you first “Met” Gabe *smirks*

Ah… I might try for some different lingerie. I’m never going to live the ruffles down. But if I hadn’t started things in that way, I probably wouldn’t have given him the time of day. So I have no regrets there…except the ruffles.

Gabe what about you? if you had the chance to re enact your first meeting would you?

I’d like to say that I’d flip on the lights and get the whole thing sorted out from the beginning but, like she said, no regrets. It worked out the way it was supposed to.

Gabe was there a pivotal moment in your relationship?

The morning I opened up to Elle and told her about my history and we made love. It changed everything.

Elle what is the most romantic thing Gabe’s done for you?

During my, AHEM, allergic reaction, he scooped up a whole bunch of things he thought might help. Chocolates, chicken noodle soup, bubble bath. It was the most romantic thing a guy had ever done for me.

What’s next for you both?

Gabe: Well, we’ve got to get Elle’s family on board, but I’m going to marry this woman.

About the book:

Seducing Mr. Wrong has never felt so right…

Prim and proper art gallery coordinator Elle Walser is no good at seducing men. Heck, she’s been throwing hints at her boss for months, but he’s completely clueless. Desperate to escape her mother’s matchmaking efforts, she comes up with a plan—buy some lingerie and climb into her boss’s bed. The plan goes brilliantly…until she accidentally seduces a sexy stranger instead.

Bad boy nightclub mogul Gabe Schultz just had the best almost-sex of his life. Too bad the smoking hot blonde thought he was his brother and bolted before he could finish what they started. Though her holier-than-thou attitude puts a serious damper on his mood, Gabe’s never been one to give up on something he wants. And he wants Elle. But does a man who lives on the dark side really have a chance with a proper lady

I had planned a dinner party. Nothing went right. The main course ended up on the floor when I pulled it out of the oven & dropped it, the soup (new recipe) was not fit for human consumption. Dessert was the only saving grace. Good friends can see the funny side, but they also never let you forget.

    • Katee Robert

Oh, yes, I know those types of dinners well. We never have to talk about the cheese-chicken-rice dish I made for friend that ended up…… well, pretty much as a block of cheese. *shudder* 😉

Argh. Yes. Our new “fabulous” house… We moved into this lovely house in an okay neighborhood with a humongous yard and tons of space… only to find that the basement has sustained major flooding every winter for years and that the owner / renters let it sit stagnant for many months last year. We actually just left another house that had black mold. We came and looked this place over and said… no mold problems? HA. In the hothot summer we are getting black mold, sewer stink and other issues. Everything that could go wrong has seemingly done so; constant air traffic right overhead, the fuel in our soil so no garden :(, plant roots burst pipes, holes appearing in walls where a pipe had leaked, appliances conked, etc… we are currently looking to move someplace… else. The bright spot that makes life bearable is that we have absolutely wonderful neighbors who cut flowers to share, lend and borrow tools, do multi family garage sales with us, have picnics & bbqs, and even share kids toys (we have a bouncy house a neighbor has a trampoline)!

    • Katee Robert

That sounds like the house I’m renting now. Flooding, furnace is constantly on the fritz, basement smells kind of funky. Not to mention the spiders…. But great neighbors make a huge difference! I want neighbors with a bouncy castle! 😉

I really can’t recall anything like that, but your book sounds like a fun read. Thanks for holding the contest.

  4. Adis

Yup, I have that kind of experience. Gee it was the worst day in my life. I felt like digging a hole and hide myself there forever. I hate the embarrassment.

Btw, nice interview. Congratz on the new release. I like the color of the cover, so sensual…

  5. ladymilano

Hmm.. I dont remember any. But if that horrible is a new beginning for a great-happy-ending, I would love to get a ‘great-plan-turned-into-horrible’ 😀

  6. Kelsey S.

I’ve never had anything go quite that wrong. Sounds like a great book!

I probably had a plan go wrong – but I do not remember it being hilarious. If they go wrong I think it has been bad for me 🙂

This book looks fun and I look forward to reading. Nicola’s book also looks great.

    Thanks for the chance

  8. izz

I’m kinda last minute person so I really don’t like to make a plan LOL, and I do not remember any memory for my plans go wrong or become hilarious.

  9. Becky M.

Sadly, many of my plans seem to go horribly awry, and even sadder, I never get great sex out of them. Guess I’ll keep trying 😉

I’ve heard about your book on several sites already–it’s definitely made it onto my TBR pile! Sounds great!

  10. Alicia Jespersen

Yea I have had plans go horribly wrong, not in a romantic way but when I was in elementary school I went to a friends house after school without telling my mom and she was so worried that she called the school and almost called the cops to find out where I was. I was grounded for a month afterwards and I deserved it and I most definitely learned my lesson!

Wow that was my worst mistake ever!

  11. Kai W.

Oh, I love this theme. I have been reading the Wrong Bed, Right Guy theme series. Love the series every much.

  15. Dian Setyarini

I had. My friend and I make birthday cake. And the result all of it is disaster. Cake can’t be ate, finally we should bought it

Usually things that go wrong aren’t hilarious, but one time when I was in high school in German class I went to sit down and a girl pulled the chair out from under me. I guess I probably hit the floor but I don’t remember. The girl who pulled out the chair apologized and I knew that she didn’t do it on purpose.

Another incident was when I called in sick to work and no one got my message. The other secretary working there told me to call her at home if I needed to call in sick. She always kept her clock ten minutes fast so she could leave work early (but she wouldn’t admit to that and acted like she had the correct time). I thought I called her early enough that she would get the message that I left on her answering machine. I went back to bed because I was sick and didn’t feel like staying up until the office opened. It turned out that she didn’t get my message and no one in the office knew that I had called in sick. I think someone called later asking where I was. So I was very embarrassed when I showed up the next day. It wasn’t funny at all, just very mortifying for me.

  17. Shannon G.

I’m sure something horrible has happened, but I, of course, didn’t think it was hilarious. And I certainly haven’t had anything comparably horrible as some of these stories. WOW
