Today it is my pleasure to welcome author Soraya Lane to HarlequinJunkie
Soraya Congrats on your first self published novel The Navy SEAL’s Promise, Soraya is here to tell us about her foray in Self publishing…
SELF-PUBLISHING & INSPIRATION
There’s a lot of talk about “hybrid” authors at the moment, and I guess that’s exactly what I’ve become. I love writing for Harlequin Mills & Boon, and nothing beats receiving my author copies in the mail, but I also wanted to self-publish my books too. I write fast and I want to make a full-time living from being an author, and self-publishing is a great way to push myself creatively and earn extra money too.
It’s a scary process but also an exciting one, because I’m so used to my lovely editor holding my hand and working on my manuscripts with me. With my latest release, The Navy SEAL’s Promise, it was a completely different experience. It was professionally edited, but essentially the final decisions were all left to me and me alone. Thankfully the book has been well received, and hit the #1 spot for bestselling free kindle ebook on a recent promotion! And rest assured, I’m still busy writing for Harlequin Romance, with three books scheduled for release next year already.
Many readers already familiar with my work will know I love writing about military men, and this story is no different. I love researching and reading about Navy SEAL’s, and this book features a delicious SEAL prepared to do anything to help the heroine in her hour of need. The heroine happens to be a soldier, which is another aspect of the modern day military I like to explore, so the dynamics between these strong individuals is fantastic.
Giveaway: I’d love to giveaway a ebook copy of The Navy SEAL’s Promise.
So please complete the rafflecopter form below and leave a comment to be entered in the draw. Tell me why you love reading about military heroes. Do you share my love of Navy SEAL’s?
About the book:
With only 48 hours back on home soil for Christmas, United States Army Corporal Saskia Cullen is desperate to spend every minute with her young son. So when heavy snowfall closes JFK airport and she misses her connecting flight, she’s devastated. Until Navy SEAL Luke Gray offers to keep her company… and then does everything within his power to get her home.
Luke is back in the US on leave, waiting to hear the details of his next mission, and Saskia proves to be a pleasant distraction. And when he hears that she needs to get home to see her son, he’s prepared to do anything to help the sexy single mom. Trouble is, he hadn’t planned on falling for anyone, let alone a beautiful soldier about to return overseas.
