Call Me Mrs. Miracle by Debbie Macomber

CMMMMrs. Miracle on 34th Street

This Christmas, Emily Merkle (just call her Mrs. Miracle) is working in the toy department of Finley’s, the last family-owned department store in New York City. And her boss is none other than Jake Finley, the owner’s son.

For Jake, holiday memories of brightly wrapped gifts, decorated trees and family gatherings were destroyed in a Christmas Eve tragedy years before. Now Christmas means only one thing to him—and to his father. Profit. Because they need a Christmas miracle to keep the business afloat.

Holly Larson needs a miracle, too. She wants to give her eight-year-old nephew, Gabe, the holiday he deserves. Holly’s widowed brother is in the army and won’t be home for Christmas, but at least she can get Gabe that toy robot from Finley’s, the one gift he desperately wants. If she can figure out how to pay for it…

Fortunately, it’s Mrs. Miracle to the rescue. Next to making children happy, she likes nothing better than helping others—and that includes doing a bit of matchmaking!

This Christmas will be different. For all of them.

A story that’s destined to become a Christmas classic from the Official Storyteller of Christmas.

Still, there are some enjoyable distractions in town, including sunny, sexy Noelle…and the red-hot mistletoe kisses they can’t stop sharing.

  27. SnarkyMom

I think that EVERYONE should read THE POLAR EXPRESS. In our house, the philosophy is that if you don’t believe, you don’t receive (this also helps keep the 14 year old twins from spoiling the joy for the 7 year old)! I often give this book as a gift, too!

  28. Barbara D.

I love reading romance books and who would not love freebies! lol

  29. Leanna

  33. Shari

I have read Christmas on Fourth Street by Susan Mallery. It shows forgiveness and true family bonds.

  34. DebraG

Tawny Weber writes great stories. I loved her Sex, Lies and Mistletoe. You feel good when you are done reading.

  35. cahmmerritt

Lori Foster, Eileen Wilks, Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dee Holmes did an anthology All I Want For Christmas that had some great stories in it.

  36. cindy reifel

I read a massive amount of books every year and I have to say that Christmas books are probably my favorite of all, but I couldn’t tell you a specific book. I will say that any Christmas book that leaves me feeling the holiday spirit and leaves a smile on my face at the end of the book is a Great Holiday Book!

  37. blondieblack

Every year I have to read How the Grinch Stole Christmas AND we go to see Grinchmas at Universal Orlando. I love that book and their show. I also love to read Christmas romances. Twas’ the Night After Christmas by Sabrina Jeffries was very good (I see someone else mentioned it too). I’ve already read Christmas at Cardwell Ranch by B.J. Daniels and am reading her Winchester Christmas Wedding right now. I love the setting in snowy Big Sky Country (Montana). Thanks for the giveaway!

  38. Lori P

I love Christmas stories and I’ve read so many I can’t remember all of the titles. A few of my favorites were written by Sabrina Jeffries, Robyn Carr, Linda Lael Miller, Susan Mallery and Fern Michaels.

  39. Marcy Meyer

I loved Take Me Home for Christmas by Brenda Novak. It just came out and is part of her Whiskey Creek series. I hadn’t read any of this series yet, but it sucked me in and didn’t let go. I’m so excited to go back read the rest of the series now.

  40. Samantha 'Cole' Kurtz

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  41. Krysten M

I absolutely loved the Windham series by Grace Burrowes, and from that series my favorite was definitely Lady Sophie’s Christmas Wish. I read that one first and then went back for all the others. So adorable and fun.

  42. Sandy Xiong

I usually would pick historical romance but Christmas on Fourth Street by Susan Mallery is the best for this. It showcases family love and about finding love. I love it!

  43. denise

The most recent ones I’ve read are “Twas the Night After Christmas by Sabrina Jeffries and Christmas on 4th Street by Susan Mallery, for a classic, you may want Little Women

  44. Glenda

My most recent Christmas romance and an excellent one is Grace Burrowe’s Lady Jenny’s Christmas Portrait. It is wonderful as are the rest of her books that I’ve read.

  45. amy o'neal

as of right now I would recommend susan mallery’s book, because so far that’s the only one of these I have read. 🙂

  46. Kim Perry

I would recommend Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown! I love that Charlie Brown wants to remain true to the message of Christmas instead of embracing all of the commercial aspects of the holiday. I also love that Snoopy wins 1st prize for his decked out doghouse!

  47. KateS

Any of Debbie Maccomber’s Christmas books, they all have a lovely mix of romance, miracle and love.

  48. Jennifer W.

What a wonderful giveaway! Great for a book lover. I have not read books by some of these authors. What a great way to get and read their work. Wonderful spirit lifter!

  49. Olga

Snowy Night with a Stranger (The Scandalous Series #2.5) by Jane Feather, Sabrina Jeffries and Julia London 🙂

  50. Daphne

i love the series that Shannon Stacey has that comes out around christmas time in an anthology, can’t remember their name

  51. Laurie Gommermann

I would highly recommend Curtiss Ann Matlock’s MIRACLE ON I-40. This is a holiday story about a young, single, hardworking waitress who is struggling to raise her 2 young children. She left home with her boyfriend over 10 years before. She realizes that she can’t provide her children with a merry Christmas so she decides to swallow her pride and go back to NC to seek her family’s forgiveness. A friend from the restaurant arranges for her and her kids to hitch a ride with a taciturn truck driver. He doesn’t believe in Christmas or love. Along the way her self sacrificing ways, her belief in Christmas miracles, her love of her children and her personality force Cooper to reexamine his beliefs about Christmas and love. These two lonely people team up to provide her children with the best Christmas ever. Their journey to a HEA follows a very bumpy but rewarding road!

  52. flchen1

One favorite is Jane Blackwood’s short story Maybe This Christmas in the Jingle All the Way anthology–it’s a second-chance story that I have to re-read at least once a year. Ms. Blackwood’s writing here is emotional and honest and real, and a definitely holiday must-read any time of year.

  53. EllenToo

When someone mentions Christmas stories I immediately thought of my favorite of all things Christmas is Charles Dickens Christmas Carol. Not sure if this is what you intended in the way of favorite stories but it has always been mine.

  54. Sandy Bartles

The Christmas Wish by Tori Scott. It has all the feel-good elements of a Christmas story.

  55. Jessica R

    Twas the Night Before Christmas
I just love it! Gotta read it every year

  56. Texas Book Lover

I know that I have read several Christmas books but for some reason the only one I can think of is Christmas in Lucky Harbor by Jill Shalvis.

  57. Andra Dalton

If my kids were answering this question without a doubt their answer would be Elf On A Shelf, Polar Express, & T’was The Night Before Christmas as its always been our tradition to read aloud all these books around the holiday season. For me its just as easy to answer any of the holiday books written by Heather Graham hands down you can never go wrong with one of her books. I’ve gobbled up as many of her books as possible over the years many of them more than once because I never tire of her writing style. A close second when I need a good belly laugh is the holiday books written by Janet Evanovich which literally makes me laugh out loud!! Just isn’t the holidays without curling up in front of the fire with these books. Thanks for the contest & good luck to all!!☺

  58. Sharlene Wegner

I have read a lot of holiday books, but one that sticks in my mind is Robyn Carr’s A Virgin River Christmas. The characters both have to go through the ringer to get their HEA, but it is so worth it!

  59. Patoct

I forgot to answer the question. One of my favorites in a Christmas read if Virgin River Christmas. Just love Ian’s character and how kind he treats the heroine in the story. Any Deb Macomber Christmas story is always a good read as well.

  60. Margaret

I loved the Christmas Train by David Baldacci – what a great story. It isn’t a classic romance, but it tells a wonderful story of how the events of one train ride can bring meaning back to life for a disillusioned journalist. The book contains mystery and romance…a must read in my opinion!

  61. meingee

Christmas on 4th Street by Susan Mallery is a great fast paced and fun read.

  62. Claira Pam

I love The Polar Express and How the Grinch Stole Christmas – they may be children’s books, but they have a good message. 🙂

  63. Christine L.

Charles Dickens’ A CHRISTMAS CAROL is the volume to which I return time and again. I always find it uplifting and I try to adhere to the following: “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!”

  64. Jennifer Zorko-Legan

Mistletoe and Margaritas by Shannon Stacey is always one of my favorites! Thanks for the chance.

  65. Shirley Buchanan

Everyone should read Sleigh Bells in the Snow by Sarah Morgan because there are Scrooges in the world, males and females, who just need that special someone to change their minds about Christmas. This book sounds like it would be the way that someone could change a Scrooge’s mind. After all, Christmas is about love.

  66. ML

The Gift by Nora Roberts. Three great romantic holiday stories in one book. Nora always weaves a wonderful tale.

  67. Josette Schaber

I love reading Christmas themed books around the holidays. Last year I had a marathon of Christmas books and I plan to do it again this year. Thinking a book a day starting December 1. So, I’m currently collecting the books. So, many new ones out to choose from. Carrie Ann Ryan has a good series, Holiday Montana. I loved Santa’s Executive. It was a humorous and easy read.

  68. holdenj

I just read Mary Kay Andrew’s Christmas novella called Christmas Bliss. It was fun to revisit some familiar characters during this time of year. Thanks!

  69. jdh2690

What a hot box of books to win! Whee! Chances are pretty slim, but I’d like to put my name in the pot anyway…you just never know…I do believe in Christmas miracles. 🙂 Thanks for the post…and the chance! [email protected]

    • jdh2690

Oops, forgot to answer the question! I imagine these movies are in book form too: Miracle on 34th Street and It’s a Wonderful Life. They ought to change a Christmas non-believer into a Christmas believer. They showcase all the good values in human life, which are easily lost or forgotten. We need reminders like there are in these two stories.

  70. Anita H.

Off the top of my head, I would say Under The Mistletoe by Jill Shalvis. It’s such a great read.

  71. Ada

I love love love Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor. It’s such a beautiful story about family and love.

  72. Michelle Harlan

One of my favorites is Lisa Kleypas’ Christmas Eve on Friday Harbor. It’s a heart-warming story & also the first book in a great series!

  73. Helen L, (gmapeony)

Any contemporary Christmas books are great. I especially love any by Susan Mallery and Debbie Macomber. Another Christmas series that is so heartwarming is the Christmas Jars series.

  74. Janelle

I have not read many Christmas books yet! I read some last year but nothing that is the BEST and I cant wait to reread. May be its in this bundle!

  75. Pattyb43

I love Christmas books. Favorite would probably have to be Robyn Carr’s Virgin River Christmas.
