Favorite book heroine of 2015? Tell us why she tops your list

I just finish reading a 3 book series by Esther Banks about an unlikely pair who fell in love at the right but wrong time for her. She was in the middle of get her business up and running. He was a billionaire and but was doing the cowboy thing when they met. He fell in love with her but she wasn’t ready. She was working full out striving to achieve her career goal. She could have just married him and lived off his money but she had a plan and stuck with it. He loved her ambition and supported her in achieving her goals! She made her owned choices with no interference from him. She took the bull by the horn and forged ahead. However, she finally learned to balance work and love life! I loved this series and highly recommend it!

    Belinda G

  2. Andrea Giang | Cooking with a Wallflower

Faith Corcoran from Closer than you Think by Karen Rose. I think every year I’d pick the heroine from one of Karen Rose’s new book just because the heroine has been through so much trauma in her life and yet still manages to stay strong and find that happily ever after. Faith is no different. She survived almost being killed by a sociopath, then escapes a stalker, and comes to terms with the trauma in her past. Yet she becomes a psychologist who counsels assault victims. I would totally vote for Faith

  3. Kate Sparks

Too many to choose from!! I’ve had such fun reading this past year and you have turned me on to sooooo many great authors!!

  4. Ashley F.

hmm, that’s a hard one but one of them is definitely Mac Lane from Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series. Especially as she learns and grows through out her journey and dealing with her grief/trying to solve the mystery of what happened to her sister and the world she gets entrenched in etc.

  5. Laura Lovejoy Brunk

Eve Dallas from JD Robb’s Death series. Beauty and braun all rolled up in one tough cookie

  6. Heather Lasala

Kate Daniels from the Kate Daniels series because she’s a strong, independent female.

  7. clickclickmycat

I loved all the female lead characters in Dorothea Benton Frank books.

  8. moosehog83

I can’t pick just one. But all of Vicki Lewis Thompsons come to mind

  9. Amanda Thompson

The females in the Rock Chick series! It’s hard to choose my favorite.

  10. Lori Meehan

Janie Kayrs from the Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti. Janie’s book is Marked the last book in the series.

  11. lraines78

Isabelle in The Nightingale. She was a very brave young woman and to realize their were women who did what she did during Word War ll is amazing.

  12. Debbi Wellenstein

I do like Charley Davidson-I also like Sam from Marie Force’s Fatal Series.

  13. Juli Hall

Nila Weaver from The Indebted series by Pepper Winters, she went from being a timid, shy person to a strong , would kill for her loved ones woman

  14. holdenj

Claire! I’ve only read the first three, but intend to continue in the new year!

  15. Helena

Blue from HA Huss’s 321. I was late reading this book, but what an incredibly woven suspense with a strong female lead.

  16. Inga

This book wasn’t released this year, but I read it this year. I liked Nicole from Joey W. Hill’s Virtual Reality. She broke out of her comfort zone and made things happen.

  17. conniefischer

Sophia Dupont Overtree of Julie Klassen’s novel “The Painter’s Daughter” is a very strong heroine who faced being left pregnant, the hatred of her stepmother and the fear that the secret of her baby’s father would be found out. A delightful heroine and a terrific novel.

  18. Sue C

I don’t have a favorite. I love all of them in Heather Graham’s books.

  19. kermitsgirl

Imogen, Lady Barclay, from Mary Balogh’s Only a Kiss. She was strong in a way most women of that time (and today) would never be – but she still knew when to ask for help.

  20. Michele Hayes

Too many to have a favorite but I have been enjoying the Zoe Donovan mysteries from Kathi Daley.

    • Michele Hayes

She’s funny and loyal and smart even though she sometimes gets into trouble.

  21. Patti (@TheLoveJunkee)

Always Kate Daniels! Smart, strong, and asks for help when she needs it.

  22. Pennie

I don’t have a favorite because I read so many but she has to be strong and confident even if she is submissive, she has to know who she is.

  23. janinecatmom

I have a lot of favorite heroines. But the one who stands out the most is Cat from Jane Green’s Summer Secrets because of all the mistakes she made (which I can relate to many) and finally growing up and seeking forgiveness.

  24. Martina

Delaney in A Love to Last by Kelsey Browning. She grew up and took responsibility for her life and found long lasting love in the process.

  25. amartinez87

Ollie from Fear University. She’s a badass, take no prisoners woman. I love a strong, independent heroine and she definitely fit the bill.

  26. JoAn V.

Caroline Foster from the Justice series by Misty Evans and Adrienne Giordano. She is intelligent, a trained sniper, daring and has some of the best banter with her love, Mitch Monroe.

  27. Amy Rickman

Charley Davidson is just one of many heroines I loved this year. I just love a kick butt heroine who’s not a whiny wimpy push over.

  28. dfosterbooks

There are so many but off the top of my head I’d name Brooke Culpepper in Collette Cameron’s Wagers Gone Awry. She has a sense of humor & a steel backbone.

  29. BookLady

Wizard sentinel DJ (Drusilla) Jaco from the Sentinels of New Orleans series by Suzanne Johnson is one of my favorite heroines. She is smart, tough, and has a snarky sense of humor.

  30. Tammy V.

Nora from Dearly, Departed by Habel. She handled herself well with everything in the story. Kept an open mind and was independent.

  31. cheryl c.

Imogen Hayes of Only a Kiss by Mary Balogh is a broken woman, deliberate in all of her actions in order to maintain tight control over her emotions. It was wonderful to read her journey of release, healing, and love.

  32. Krysten M

So many choices! I think I’ll have to go with Kate Daniels from Ilona Andrews’s series. I just love her sarcasm and banter 🙂

  33. Michelle Harlan

I finally read Skin by Lydia Michaels this year & absolutely adored the heroine, Mallory Fenton. She’s the gal next door, with all the insecurities that come with being overweight. I loved how Finn was able to make her see herself the way he saw her, as a beautiful, kind, and passionate woman. Mallory’s character made me re-think the way I think of myself, and also taught me to accept the compliments I receive from my husband. She is tops on my list of favorite female characters!

  34. Rita Wray

I think I would say Eve Kendal from Thornbrook Park. She was a strong character, I liked her a lot.

  35. Beth Mills

Mary Dundas from Susanna Kearsley’s A DESPERATE FORTUNE: her quiet strength and grace grow on reader ( and hero) as the story progresses

  36. V

Millie Cross in Kristen Ashley’s Walk Through Fire. Strong, loyal, and willing to make huge sacrifices in the name of love.

  37. Tanya Guthrie

There are so many! I absolutely love Charley Davidson by Darynda Jones though. She is like my sister in terms of her sense of humor! I often read a large portion of her books out loud so that my man can share in the great time. He hates most of my books but he loves when I’m reading those.

  38. Cathy P

I have loved the heroines in all the books I have read this year. If I have to choose one, it would be Josephine MacAdams from Suzan Tisdale’s Isle of the Blessed. She is smart, loyal, stands up for those who cannot do so, and is very brave and sweet.

  39. kim amundsen

I love all the herioines in the books I read this year. I can’t choose just one.

  40. Gretchen H

Mary Balogh’s Imogen is my favorite heroine since Freyja. Strong but graceful, and mature. Meaning, not an impulsive teenager, not that she’s old, since she’s only in her 20s lol.

  41. Leanna

Ella Wolf from At Wolf Ranch bucks Jennifer Ryan. This is the first book I read by Jennifer Ryan and I loved it! Ella sees her twin sister murdered by the uncle who raised her and her sister and she has to find out why and what her uncle has done. Ella is very smart and strong.

  42. vadensmommy1

It’s ashwyn the bloody and human queen and mate to furgeson the destroyer from dragon kin series by g.a Aiken / Shelly Laurenston. Not only has she suffered in her youth, her father would beat her her brother trying to kill her, but instead of giving in she fought back. She gathered troups to fight against her brother. Then when she came head to head with a dragon she stood her ground a d became friends with him. He taught her to fight with her rage. She finds out he is a shifter and is human dragon mix they fall in love and mate even though people thought it was wrong. She stood her ground. Then when she got pregnant because of the gods she choose to give her life for her twins. But then her friend stepped in and bargained with a god to bring her back. Then she has spent the next 20 plus years fighting war after war of people who want to kill her children. Everything she is or has ever done is because her kids are her world. She’s strong, loyal and will fight to the death to protect her loved ones

  43. Elizabeth T.

Darcy Stone from Still the One, by Jill Shalvis is my favorite. Love Shalvis’ books – always funny with flawed, yet lovely characters.

  44. ndluebke

My most recent favorite is Danielle Belanger from Falling for the Enemy by Naomi Rawlings. She was a knife throwing, not much good in the kitchen type of woman. Trouble seems to be close behind but she made the best of it. But she has a good heart.

  45. Marcy Meyer

I love Sam Holland from Marie Force’s Fatal series. The newest release this year, Fatal Frenzy, was so good. Sam had a tough time in this book. She’s so strong and independent, yet she can be really vulnerable and troubled at times.

  46. peggy clayton

gosh i guess it would have to be from A Bride For the Italian by Susan Meier and it was Daniella Tate as she just didn’t take a no from her boss and his temper. She stayed strong and went toe to toe with him!

  47. Sandy X

Alli from Just the Way You Are by Barbara Freethy. She has been in a marriage where it is one sided and finally has the strength to ask for a divorce. I love her because even though she has problems with her sister, she was able to put it aside on certain occasions to help her grandmother.

  48. Valerie

So many of them rock, and to be honest with you isn’t this like asking about your favorite child?

  49. Stephanie F.

Kate Daniels has to be at the top of my list. She is my ideal heroine, smart, snarky, funny and kick ass. She can hold her own against any man, especially the Alpha she loves.

  50. Kim

I loved Darcy from Still the One by Jill Shalvis and Rose Calloway from Fuel the Fire by Krisat & Becca Ritchie! Both are smart, strong, fierce, and loyal.

  51. Tabathia B

Carissa from Ride Steady and Millie from Walk through Fire both by Kristen Ashley because Ashley writes about unbelievable females and these two more recent books these ladies went through it all both great books but Millie walked through fire for her man by giving him up so he could have a beautiful life with kids and Carissa from what she endured

  52. Trudy

I can’t get “A Lover’s Lament “out of my thoughts. That being said, Katie Devora is an important heroine to me. She has suffered great losses. Admitting she needs help, brings her back to her past. She finds strength to deal with loss, and forgive Devin for past mistakes. Her emotional strength makes her an impressive character..

  53. Mary C.

One favorite is Zaira Neve from Nalini Singh’s Shards Of Hope – overcoming a horrific childhood and becoming a role model for the Arrows with the fall of Silence.

  54. marcyshuler

Such a difficult question to answer. I really loved Imogen, Lady Barclay from ONLY A KISS by Mary Balogh. Her book is part of “The Survivor’s Club” series and she’s just that. A strong and compassionate survivor.

  55. Terri C.

The heroine from the Karen Harkness books stands out. She was just different and stood out.

  56. Jenn McElroy

I’m going to have to agree with Lou from Me Before You by Jojo Moyes! The ways that she cared for Will & the lengths that she went to were almost too much to bear.

  57. Texas Book Lover

I FINALLY read the Kate Daniels series this year and she is one badass woman.

  58. Ellen Thompson

There are too many to name just one but I love a heroine who doesn’t sit around waiting to be rescued.

  59. Vicki

I have too many to name. If I have to choose I love Stephanie Plum from Janet Evanovich. She’s funny and is always getting in trouble

  60. Glenda

I’m horrible at choosing a favorite hero or heroine – it’s almost always the one I just read. 🙂

  61. Diane Sallans

Since I read JD Robb’s whole In Death series this year I gotta go with Eve Dallas

  62. erinf1

Oh my… I read so many awesome books this year by Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Nalini Singh, Lauren Dane, Skye Warren, Shiloh Walker, Thea Harrison, Darynda Jones… just to name a few 🙂 Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  63. Meredith Miller

Charley Davidson. I read the whole series this year and I am looking forward to the next one in a couple of weeks!

  64. nikkiphilton

I read so many wonderful 5 star books this year. There’s just something about Eve Dallas.

  65. rachbrown2015

I liked Vanity Baker from Tough Love by Lori Foster and Caroline Foster from Undercover Justice by Adrienne Giordano and Misty Evans. I like heroines that are feisty and independent.

  66. Janie McGaugh

Kate Daniels is my favorite heroine of 2015. She’s smart, snarky, kicka**, powerful and, also, a very caring person.

  67. Denise Van Plew

For me still is Eve from JD Robb she still intrigues me and her partner in each novel. It is like waiting for the next episode. I have also loved the sisters in BJ Daniels as more and more of that tale revealed.

  68. Sue G.

Cora Hollis from Vindicate by Beth Yarnall. Cora believed in her brother’s innocence and fought hard for him.

  69. JoannaM

I don’t have a favorite in particular but Georgia from Four by R.E. Carr comes to mind as a strong independent women that confronted all her fears in the name of love.

  70. Colleen C.

So many that I have enjoyed… I will say Muriel from Mallory Crowe’s Binding Fire, because I just finished the story and she kicks butt!

  71. lrhubble

Eve Gray from Broken by Cynthia Eden. I think Eve is great because with everything that has happened to her she is still determined to find out what happened and to fight back and take control of her life.

  72. Kim

Another HARD question to answer. I think I have to say Harper Johnson from Melissa Cutler’s Game Changer. Harper has this amazing strength and her story was really one of pure love.

  73. Jennifer Taylor

Scarlet from Red Hill By: Jamie McGuire. She was a strong character and never gave up on her children.

  74. Carrie E.

I don’t I could pick just 1!!! I really love strong women and the men who adore them!

  75. ELF

I have many different ones, including some old favorites like Torin Kerr from the Tanya Huff series and Lily Yu from the Eileen Wilks’ series. Thanks for the giveaway!

  76. CelineB

Veronica Speedwell from A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn. I just loved her composure, intelligence, and her enlightened for the time view on sexuality.

  77. Jean Torgeson White

Kyler from An Unexpected Love because her twins are always her first priority, but she has a sense of humor about having twins.
