A-Deal-to-Mend-Their-MarriageA Deal to Mend Their Marriage by Michelle Douglas: Five years, five very long years of letting a misunderstanding do one of two things, eat at you or teach you about yourself.

Caroline Elizabeth Fielding had been going through what she thought was a healing process for the last five years. The problem was just when she thought she was healed her father passed away and then all to soon she comes face to face with her misunderstanding of five years ago, her husband. It’s all too much, all too soon and all too raw.

Jack Pearce wasn’t sure what seeing his wife would do to him. He just knew after five years it was time to put an end to the farce they called a marriage. He needed to move past the five years of growing anger and pain. So he knew it was time to fly across the world and confront her with papers.

Sometimes in this life it’s all about timing and Jack certainly stepped back into Caroline’s life when there was a need for him and his PI skills. The real question was though could he see past five years of building anger to have a clear vision of the past? Not to mention if he could would he be able to mend the fence?

Ms. Douglas has given her readers an interesting romance with this novel. The plot is fantastic and the mystery involved keeps the story flowing as well as helping to develop the overall plot line and characters. The romance piece of the story is slowly built which is lovely because she is able to give off the feeling of forever rather than a love that will be quickly built and then destroyed. Readers of second chance novels and mystery with a bit of romance in them will enjoy this read.
