In Demon’s Mercy by Rebecca Zanetti, Mercy O’Mallery is a Fey determined to take out vampire-demon Logan Kyllwood to prevent The Seven from becoming fully formed. The Fey believe that the Seven fully formed will create a rift in dimensions that will destroy everyone. The Seven believe fully forming is the only way to prevent Ulric from escaping the prison he had been put in. While the pair have different ideas of what will save the world from Ulric, they might just find love if they can find a way to work together and survive the obstacles thrown in their way.

First, I strongly recommend you read Vampire’s Faith before reading this, as that’s the book where the story arc about The Seven starts and explains their whole purpose. I think if readers start with this book, they may feel somewhat confused about all the characters and may feel like they’re missing something.

I loved Logan and Mercy together. They shouldn’t work considering they are on different sides of the fence, but they really do. I enjoyed their banter and how well they worked together. Mercy is a bit of rebel, going against her orders from the Fey from the beginning. Logan kept the secret of The Seven from his family until he had no choice but to get their help. At times though, I felt like their romance took a back seat to everything else that was going on. Still, I liked their romance although I would have liked to have seen a little more of it.

Readers also get to see more of Logan’s niece, Hope, and her interactions in the dream world with her Kurjan friend, Drake. Her friend Pax doesn’t like her communicating with him, but she’s insistent that all of them, together, are going to save the world one day. I’m looking forward to seeing when her parents finally realize she’s been meeting Kurjan in the dream world, like her parents had met.

There’s plenty of action in this book as Logan and Mercy not only have to deal with Fey that are out to stop them, but they also have to try to rescue his brother, Sam, and another member of The Seven that had gotten transported into a hellish dimension. Reading this book made me more curious about Sam, and I’m looking forward to reading more about him.

Filled with non-stop action and romance, Demon’s Mercy is fast-paced must read. Those who have been following the series will enjoy seeing the characters introduced from the previous books again. I’m looking forward to seeing what else Rebecca Zanetti has in store for this series.

Mercy O’Malley hates killing people. So when she’s assigned to take out Vampire-Demon Logan Kyllwood, she lures him to a seedy bar in Scotland, then decides to kidnap him instead. How can she cold-bloodedly end all that heat, those green eyes, that ripped body?

Unfortunately for Mercy, attempted murder and kidnapping are just foreplay for the Kyllwood brothers. Logan may be the youngest of the bunch, but death and violence are already a way of life. Now he’s ready to complete a painful, terrifying ritual to become one of the Seven, dedicated to protecting this world from the most dangerous evil it’s ever known. But first he has to deal with a blackmailing Fey, a ransom demand and his own pounding need for the last female he ever should have fallen for .
