In Full Measures by Rebecca Yarros, Ember’s world comes crashing down when her father, an army doctor dies in Afghanistan. When her own family shatters around her, she somehow finds the strength to singlehandedly care for her crumbling family.

FMThen Josh Walker enters her life. Hockey star, her new next-door neighbor, and not to mention the most delicious hands that insist on saving her over and over again. He has a way of erasing the pain with a single look, a single touch. As much as she wants to turn off her feelings and endure the heartache on her own, she can’t deny their intense attraction.

But Josh has a secret which can end everything for her once again and its up to Ember to decide if their relationship is worth the risk..

“Gus has my number because I’m his coach. Now you have it
because I’m your whatever.”
“My whatever?”
The soft kiss he’d placed on my lips had me leaning in for
more. “Whatever you need me to be,” he whispered against my
mouth.

This.was.BEAUTIFUL.

There are few books which have the power to create havoc on your emotions and Full Measures by Rebecca Yarros definitely comes in the category of those few books. It makes you laugh, cry and most importantly enjoy the whole journey in the end. Ember is a twenty year old whose life changes in a fraction of second and the way she handles herself in the eye of storm was commendable. I could totally relate to her and everything she did appeared so natural that it was easy to like her. Josh Walker is a rebel, Hockey star and the person who stands up for Ember throughout the book. He was the perfect hero because he had everything in the right proportions. He was possessive but not obsessive regarding Ember. His secret comes as a big surprise because there is no way I could have guessed it even though there were hints.

The romance was exciting because of the character’s amazing chemistry.I also liked how the secondary characters are handled so well and they are such a great addition to the story. The military world is also described so beautifully and passionately.

Her mascara tube hit the vanity, and her mouth gaped open.
“Holy shit. You got to Josh Walker.”
I was too scared to smile. “Not as much as he’s gotten to me.”

Overall,Full Measures are a must read for everyone who loves New Adult. Its beautiful, heart wrenching and I can go on and on.If this is Rebecca Yarros debut then I can’t wait to read more from her.
