His-Sicilian-Cinderella-Playboys-of-Sicily-2His Sicilian Cinderella by Carol Marinelli is the second part in the Playboys of Sicily and can be easily read as a standalone. When millionaire Matteo Santini bought one night with Bella Gatti, it was to protect her innocence from the dangerous game she was caught up in. He never expected to be so undone by their fierce attraction or her disappearance the next day. Chambermaid Bella has escaped her shameful past, but her memories of that night with Matteo still burn. Forced to attend Sicily’s most exclusive wedding together, Bella knows the dark-hearted tycoon will want a reckoning. As the clock strikes twelve, it’s clear the only way Bella will be leaving the party is with Matteo— via his bed!

This was a well written romance with a really different story line with many situations which I felt were too much out of the box for the presents line. The story moves from past to present which was important as the character’s past plays a major role in their relationship.Bella is a strong heroine, though not many readers would approve of the drastic choices she took in the story,I still found her brave. Matteo was a dark hero and it was difficult to like him most of the times because of his attitude.

The romance was a little angst ridden and the characters shared a good chemistry.Overall, this was a good romance which i personally thought was a really good attempt at breaking the usual fantasy ridden romance but I am not sure it fits in the Presents line because the character’s backgrounds, the situations and the basic story-line fits what this line represents.Dedicated Presents readers may like this one if they are willing to take a risk but would be disappointed if they are looking for something idyllic.
