In The Cowboy’s Christmas Surprise by Marie Ferrarella, Holly Johnson has been in love with Ramon Rodriguez since first grade. Holly has lots of responsibilities, looking after her disabled mother and her niece. She doesn’t have time to do anything but work and study to get her degree as a nurse. As it is, she spends 18 hours a day between working and studying online. But when her boss threatens to fire her if she doesn’t go out with her co-workers on Sunday night to the dance, she has no other choice but to go.
She only has one dress to wear and it’s her to go dress for every occasion, but as she is deciding on what to wear she soon has her mother giving her a beautiful and most likely expensive dress to wear. At first she wants to refuse, but she learns that her boss sent it and that she has to wear it. Holly expects her friend to pick her up, only to be surprised when Ramon shows up instead.
When Ramon first sees Holly he thinks that she cleans up nicely. He will have to keep an eye on her, for he knows that she is not used to going out. He believes that he will just drop her off with her friends and that he can just walk away to find his conquest for the night after that. But when he spies a very drunk cowboy not backing down when Holly obviously is not interested, he soon finds himself next to her to protect her. And soon after with her in his arms he starts feeling thing that he has not felt before, and ends up kissing her.
Both Ramon and Holly think that they can just go on as normal, but that one kiss has woken up desires long hidden or denied. And now they will be brought together more often by circumstances that will only make them want more than just one kiss.
Friends to lovers, The Cowboy’s Christmas Surprise by Marie Ferrarella is a great read I loved the chemistry between Holly and Ramon and how people worked to bring them together even without them really knowing all the time. This story will make you smile and will make you want to be part of the town of Forever. A great book for the last and most elusive bachelor in the Rodriguez clan.
