Variables of Love by M.K. Schiller is Meena Kapoor and Ethan Callahan love story or more appropriately their Journey Variables-of-Loveto finding their Happily Ever After! A brilliantly written NA romance, one that had me totally invested in the characters and their HEA from the start.

Meena is in her senior year at Stanford where she’ll graduate summa cum laude, and then she’ll begin her interviews… her marriage interviews. Meena is Indian, and she’s never questioned that she’ll have an arranged marriage like all the generations before her. Not until she meets gorgeous math major Ethan Callahan. Meena is convinced that they have no future but her convinces her to share the present. Ethan believes every problem has a solution, but with cultural expectations and family duty among the variables, they will struggle to solve the ultimate equation to find happiness.

Variables of Love is definitely the romance for all the geeks out there. Firstly, the title is so clever and as you read the story, the geek in you is gonna be impresses by the same. Secondly, the heroine is an Economics major and the hero is a Math major.

“You’re a math major,” I said, “so you understand the importance of balance.
Every equation has to equal out, and we don’t. Not on any level. We don’t fit.
Not as anything. Not even friends. Do you understand?”
Ethan’s eyes lit up, and his sexy lips curled in a playful smile. “I can’t
lie. You’re turning me on something fierce with that math analogy, especially
one so Euclidean in nature. Honestly, though, I can’t say I understand since
correlation does not equal causation. If anything, mathematics provides logic
for my argument.”
“How so?”
“A and B are different variables, but together they always equal C, right?
A and B are rarely equal. You’re implying that you and I are on opposite sides
of the equation, but we’re not. We are both on the same side, working toward
C. C represents the culmination of our friendship. But, Meena, if we’re not
friends, then we’ll never find C, will we? Don’t you want to solve for C?”

Meena is a geek and appears to be closed off from the world. She does not share much about her because of her unfortunate past. Ethan is the one who shows Meena a whole new world and I totally loved him for it. He was sweet, caring, persuasive and just the guy our heroine needed. There were some pretty great moments in the book which totally sucked me right inside in the book and kept me hooked throughout.

The romance between Meena and Ethan basically about overcoming the cultural expectations and family duty to find true love. There were some secondary characters too who were facing some problems similar to our main couple and they were a great addition to the story.

“I promise you, Ethan Callahan, that I’ll leave my future husband if he
hurts me.”
“And if you can’t?” I shook my head, but his whisper was so powerful it sent
a shiver down my back. “You owe me this. I need to hear you say it.”
“I will call you no matter how much time has passed between us.”
“Thank you,” he said, exhaling.
I turned around and reached for the shampoo. He took it from me.
“Let me,” he said.
I closed my eyes and surrendered to his touch as he washed my hair. “What
if it’s ten years from now, and you have to explain to your wife why some weird,
obnoxious woman is calling you in the middle of the night?” I meant it as a
joke, but as soon as I said it, the words sounded bitter and fell flat.
His fingers stilled, and he leaned down, his mouth hovering above my ear.
“I’ll tell her the truth. I’m friend number three, and I always will be.”

Variables of Love by M.K. Schiller will surely have all the geeks rejoicing, but this is more than just a geeky love story, this is a beautifully crafted love story for ALL ages. One that reinstates that no matter what the world tells us, Love is all you need and true love breaks down barriers and knows no boundaries. A MUST read for all HEA Junkies!

Meena Kapoor knows what life has in store for her. She’s in her senior year at Stanford where she’ll graduate summa cum laude, and then she’ll begin her interviews…her marriage interviews. Meena is Indian, and she’s never questioned that she’ll have an arranged marriage like all the generations before her. Not until she meets gorgeous math major Ethan Callahan. Ethan’s sense of humor and free spirit stir feelings in Meena she didn’t know were possible outside of Bollywood movies. It doesn’t hurt that he’s charming and has the uncanny ability to make math sound like poetry, but Meena knows their equation makes no sense in the real world.

Ethan finds himself intrigued by the mysterious, beautiful girl, whose big, brown eyes reflect great pain. His goals are small at first—to make her smile and then to laugh. But he soon wants more, and though Meena is adamant they have no future, he convinces her to share the present. Ethan believes every problem has a solution, but with cultural expectations and family duty among the variables, they will struggle to solve the ultimate equation to find happiness.
