A Cowboy of Her Own by Marin Thomas: If you have been keeping up with the Cash Brothers series, you don’t want A-Cowboy-of-Her-Own-by-Marin-Thomasto miss the last bachelor lose his heart. It’s Porter’s turn to find his soul mate, but his is not going to be easy to win over.

Porter Cash is the last bachelor left in the family, and he is tired of being one. Porter dreams of buying his own ranch and raising bucking horses for the rodeos, but not only that, he wants what his brothers have, a wife, children and that feeling of belonging. But to start on getting his dreams he has to begin with having a steady job and saving as much as he can in order to buy the land he has his eye on. Which is how we now find him with a job transporting rodeo bulls after never holding any job for too long.

Wendy Chin is an insurance adjuster, and a woman whose life is centered on her work and honoring her family. Even though she is a second generation born American, she was raised by strict Chinese traditions. Her parents were raised that way, and want to do the exact same thing with her. But secretly she longs for a different life, something more freeing and being able to have fun. But with an investigation she has to start she may just get her wish.

When Wendy shows up at the rodeo and notifies Porter that she will be traveling with him on his next transportation of bulls, he thinks that it’s just a routine thing, but is afraid it could cost him his job and his dreams. Then comes his family telling him to keep away from her and not to lay a hand on her, especially Wendy’s friend and his sister Dixie. Making him vow to keep things as professional as possible.

But when things don’t add up between what Wendy tells him and what she is telling others he thinks that something else is going on, he just can’t figure out what. And then he decides to follow his instincts and try to loosen Wendy up with a dare to have a drink before they bunk at a hotel to wait for morning to pick up the bulls. Which leads to her acting on her feelings and instincts and getting him to kiss her, only to then believe that he is not attracted to her and was only taking pity on her and making him act on the feeling he was keeping bottled up.

Now as they decide to embark on what begins as a fling and then an affair, they will have though decisions ahead. Beginning with Wendy’s family who will not accept Porter as they are set on setting her up with a Chinese man. Then getting his family to stop belittling his actions and acknowledge that he a grown man and knows what he wants in life. Not to mention discovering whom Porter’s father is, since he was never able to have that talk with their mother before she died and never had a clue as to who his father is.

A prefect ending to a great series, I loved each and every Cash brother book and Porter’s was both sweet, funny and heartwarming.

He wasn’t looking for love

Fun-loving Arizona rodeo cowboy Porter Cash has always been more interested in having a good time than a steady paycheck. But to realize his dream of owning his own ranch, Porter needs this new job delivering roughstock to rodeos. What he doesn’t need is a too-serious, too-smart and too-sexy-for-her-own-good copilot on the trip.

When savvy insurance adjuster Wendy Chin joins Porter for the haul, she is all work and no play. But soon, business turns to pleasure and Wendy is conflicted. Her heart wants Porter, but her strict Chinese-American parents will never support the match. Can Porter find a way to prove to Wendy that, when it comes to love, he’s not fooling around?

Thanks for the great review, Yazmin. I’m really looking forward to reading Porter’s story since I’ve followed along as all his brothers (and his sister) found their HEA.
